Be sure you have the coils snugged up tight enough to keep from leaking. The old coils you take out, you can soak in a little bit of vodka or even hot water. Let them soak overnight, or even longer (if you have enough spares..:)), take them out and let them dry out and use as replacements.

Let us know if you have any other problems or questions...vape on...:vapor:

I soaked them overnight and now they are drying on a paper towel. How often do I have to change the coils?

This is starting to get like work. Keep charging batteries, refill, change coils, wash coils. I don't want to make this a hobby. I just want an easy way to keep from going back to smoking.

Do you guys have a routine for doing all this? Will it become automatic for me? Thanks for your help.

I hate to break the news to you, but there is no easy way to stay away from analogs with ecigs. You could, I suppose, buy cheap disposables from China in bulk and end up vaping something like burnt shoe leather (on a good day).

Another alternative is to buy heads in quantity from China (Fasttech) which end up costing you around a $1 each. I have been waiting about a month for an order from them, and it just left HK. Life has been very busy for me of late, and there was no time to sit down to rebuild them. I am especially interested in trying micro coils and cotton.

Vaping brings out the mad scientist in some of us, and we can let out our creative self by tinkering with everything from mods to vaporizers to DIY.

With the purchase of Blu by AJR, big tobacco will do everything in its power to regulate ecigs. It is a battle in which the ecig community will eventually be beaten down despite our best efforts. There is just too much money involved, and the ecig industry is just too fragmented to put up a united front.

The tinkerers will survive. There is even a new mod out there with a "flashlight" head, and there are 510 flashlight heads available now so the power end will stay open.

You can rebuild vaporizers with off the shelf items until the cows come home.

Juices can also be made with off the shelf items. Nicotine availability could become an issue, but there are work arounds that are not all that difficult technically.

For now, your best bet is just to buy heads in quantity if you don't want to go through the trouble of maintaining them.

If you change the coils ever second or third fill, it should be more than enough, it can depend a lot of what e-liquids you're using. Some dark, sweet or tobacco flavors can dirty up the coil faster, clearer juice are less fussy. If you build up a surplus of spare coils so that you have a number of them sitting soaking and just have to remember to take one out every few days so that it has enough time to dry before a refill.

Replacing the coil is kinda like...umm, emptying the ashtrays, a pain in the rear end but necessary....

Hi linda19!

First off Welcome & Congrats on your 10 days on the EVOD!

I change out the coil head about every 2-3 days. It just depends on the performance of your e-cig and what you prefer when changing them out. As stated above from other users, you can soak or rinse in hot water and let dry on a paper towel over night to get another "life" out of the coils. With that said, you will need to buy more coil heads for long term use. I recommend discountvapers.com I do not work for them or anything but they do offer great service and easy shopping on their site. I think they are fair priced for quality products. A months supply of coil heads will run you about $20-$25. Then you don't have to be technical or become a mechanic or engineer or anything to operate and maintain your e-cig! Kanger eVod Coil replacements I'd go with either the 1.8ohms or the 2.2ohms coil heads, 3 packs aproxamately a month.

If you really want to quit smoking and make the full switch to e-cigs you will evolve into your own routine. My routine (from 00:00) is as follows.....

Charging my main PV over night on a wall charger by my bedside. Also charging 2 kanger 1000mah batteried in the kitchen. So to start my day, I have a full charge on my main PV and 2 "on the go" batteries ready to go. Before work, I pack my e-cig in my case with the 2 charged full batteries and I also have a car charger in my glovebox at all times. I pack 2 extra coil heads and at least 30ml bottle of e-liquid and a paper towel plus my e-cig lanyard. My main PV stays at home charging and I use it while having coffee in the morning or while I'm at home at all times. When I get home, I put my kanger 1000mah batteries on the chargers and use my main PV. I'm DIY on my e-liquid, but I usually mix up 2 weeks worth of my main vape e-liquid on Sundays and always have a month supply at hand ready to go. I order spare parts or coil heads every pay day if needed.
Give it time, it all seems very tricky and a lot of work and I know you stated that you didn't want a hobby but it kinda does just morph into one after a while! Just give it time and patients and do your research.

I spend roughly $50 a month and I've invested about $800 so far into supplies and e-cigs plus I make my own e-liquids. I've been off of tabacco cigarettes now completely over 6 months! Best investment I've made in my life I believe & I've probably saved it too!
Hugs & Best wishes!

linda you may also wish to research carot tanks on here you may find they are a bit easier to deal with then the coil tanks, then again maybe not, just something to research.
These guys are giving good advice about those I haven't used one yet so i can not contribute.

you can find videos on youtube about almost every kind/brand of vaping product like carto & bottom coil tanks. I hope you continue vaping each kind of tank system is a little different. once you find what works for you it will feel more like routine & less like a job
