First time vaper here, just got my first e-cig! I got an Ego-C Twist with a T3, Stardust, and Vivi Nova just to play around with. Works like a charm. Anyways, what's the best or proper way to inhale?

1. Drag into mouth first, then into lungs while mouth is still closed.
- This creates more vapor when exhaling but not much throat hit when inhaling.

2. Drag into mouth first, then open mouth and inhale vapor together with oxygen.
- More sting behind your throat but less vapor.

Are any of these bad ways to inhale? How do you long-term vapers usually inhale? I also heard you don't actually have to inhale the vapor into your lungs? You can simply hold it in your mouth, then let it go like a cigar. Is inhaling into your lungs bad?

I believe the way you are doing it is fine. I do a 4-5 second puff (slowly, not hard, consistant) into my mouth, inhale, and exhale through both my mouth and nose. Our noses actually help us to "taste" the flavor in vapor.

Because of a difference in the size of the molecules that carry the nicotine in vapor and cigarette smoke, we absorb most of the nicotine from the mucous membranes in our mouth, throat, and nose. So it is not really necessary inhale to get your nicotine, just as President Clinton swore.

I don't believe inhaling vapor is bad. Some people claim that the vg heavy juices cause some mucous in their lungs; which could be true as vegetable glycerin is a humectant, which means it could do that. But not many people experience this.

Also be sure to drink plenty of water. vaping can cause dry mouth and dehydration.

ether way is fine,,as far as TH that has to do more with your juice, voltage and atty on your device biggest difference being the juice,
if you want more vapor then use more VG if you want more TH then use more PG.

personally i never use more the 50% vg or its like inhaling steam and get no satisfaction i mostly use 70/30 PG/VG 18mg nic in the tanks you have, anything over 30%VG in those tanks just dont wick well for me and leave me with dry hits

I'm new as well and also wondered this when I got my mod the other day. I have smoked cigarettes and cigars and find the way I vape is right in the middle of the 2.

I take a long drag, take a short inhale (not deep into my lungs like cigarettes, just into the back of my throat) then exhale.

After I get the throat hit I'm satisfied and feel a lot better leaving my lungs out of it.

I think it really comes down to personal preference. Experiment a little bit.

Nice setup too! I just got a viva nova tank earlier today, before that I was using 510 cartomizers.

What a difference...I'm loving it so far!

I have a fairly complicated system i developed while at work: I do number 2 with about 3 second draws 3 times take a small breath and do the whole process 3 times then I breathe it all out and repeat. Generally I do the whole process 3X and by then my break is over. I know I'm weird and have a thing for 3s plus a 5 min break to get my nic fix. There is no problem with breathing in, just do what works for you. Hopefully it is not as OCD of a system for you!

I take big aqua-lung hits like I'm trying to explode my chest.... Same way I've smoked for 20 years, regardless of what I am inhaling. Filling my lungs is the whole point, no sense in just "playing" with the darned thing, hit it hard and often, I say!!!

That is awesome, don't screw around. If you are going to do something give all you've got.

I take into the mouth and then inhale it. That is how I smoked also, I didnt direct inhale.
Like its been said tho, nic from the e-cig is absorbed more in the mouth throat and nose.

I disagree with those that have said PG and VG caused a phlem build up, just the opposite, it cleared my lungs out of all the crud. I have no smokers cough anymore, and I was coughing really bad before I quit. I was choking on the crap all the time. They use PG in breathing machines as a vehicle for the meds. PG and VG bind with other liquid molicules, so it binds with water. It thins the phlem so you can cough it up easy.
So you want to drink plenty of water so there is no dehydration.

#2 for me as well. It took a little while for me to realize vaping doesn't require one to inhale into the lungs, which is difficult for someone who is transitioning from cigarette tobacco to vaping. The not inhaling probably makes more sense to a cigar or pipe smoker. When I first started vaping, I did inhale, but noticed the pg bothering me in my chest and didn't like it. Actually, there's a link some where in the forum that pertains to how to vape. That thread goes into why you don't need to inhale. I can remember where I saw it, but when I find it I'll post the link...

Go BIG or go home, for me it's all in home I'm feeling at the time. I vary it up
