What kind of equipment do I need to grab exactly 1 drop?

None needed, just drop from the container it is in. Converting drops to mils, each container/flavor company is different. Finding out how many drops from capella that equal 1 mil is approx. 33-36 drops. I take a 1 mil syringe and make sure the needle part is closed off, usually with a stopper. Then I drip into the top of the syringe and count the number of drops until you reach the 1 mil mark on the syringe. Only used capella as a reference as flavor companies differ in the type of container they use and the volume of the flavor itself.

Not sure if this is what you were asking but I gave it a shot anyway.

:)

Any dropper style closure or a syringe.

Unfortunately, they all measure differently depending on what closure you use. You could do a 5% mix in vg or pg and get more accuracy.

I don't use the drop method, as it's much less accurate than the % method. I've thought about it, however, and I think this is how I'd do it.

buy a bunch of bottles from the same manufacturer to ensure that the droppers on them all disperse equally sized droplets when squeezed. Transfer all of your flavorings into them (remember to label everything). Take your thickest flavor concentrate and slowly drip it into an empty syringe until you've reached the 1mL mark on the syringe, counting the drops as you go. Do the same for the thinnest concentrate you have. Add the two numbers together and divide by two to get a sort of 'average' drops/mL.

So say your average drops/mL is 35 and your favorite recipe uses 11 drops of flavoring in a 10mL bottle. Since 35 drops = 1mL (10% in a 10mL bottle), and 11 drops is roughly 1/3 of that, you're using about 2.5-3% of that particular flavor.

just measure with syringes. is what I do. no drops, just mls

I have syringes that measure, fully filled:

-1ml
-5ml
-10ml
-20ml

and they're all numbered in fractions accordingly (like, the 1ml syringe is numbers in 1/10s, with 1/100s noted with lines; the 10ml is numbered in mls, with 1/10s noted in lines, etc)

and also dripping from a plastic pipette style is significantly bigger drops then a juice bottle drip

just do a test on all your equipment by dripping into a syringe with your thumb closing off the bottom like said before then you know where you stand, just don't test with water because it will have smaller drops then say vg/pg :)

The syringes are pretty accurate; just beware that you need a large-bore needle for VG liquids.

I don't think the amount in the needle will throw things off by much, and one good thing about a syringe (as opposed to a graduated cylinder) is that all of it goes into your mix (with a cylinder, stuff sticks to the sides). You can clean out the needle easily by drawing in air and expelling it (either into your mix or into the sink). Syringes are a whole lot easier, IMHO.
