How to Identify a Fake NonProfit Organization

In no way whatsoever am i ...... at you lol, I see his point as well... I am not handling the filing end of things and I do know it can take a while for these things to be filed...I also do not know who put a date on it, all I am saying is all the questions will be answered in time (and time is only an illusion). All I want to know is what his motivation is for bashing the ECA, we are good people for a good cause and we are doing the best we can. Please allow us to prove it without the bashing. I have met in person the majority of the people involved in the ECA and we are true to the cause, It is not only a business to us all. We do really want the e-cig to be available to all, we are e-smokers. I personally have lost much of my family to cancer, the e-cig is a revolutionary device. We can change the future, all I am asking Is patience. I will personally get to the bottom of the lack of info and I promise everyone will be updated with the filing of the paperwork situation you all require.

I don't really want to get involved, but I also see Babachoo's point. His point may not be popular, but it does make one wonder what the true intentions are of the ECA if they can't provide basic information about their group, but have no problems asking for money.
Post the proper documentation already and put an end to this.

Although I'm a Brit, I also happen to represent the UK Gov as a Director of an international non-profit standards organisation founded and based in the US.
I just checked their web site - sure enough all the "signs of a real one" including a downloadable 501(c) cert.
I don't have strong views on the ECA, but the problem here seems easy for the ECA to solve?

Guys... don't you think this energy could be better used elsewhere? If you don't like that things are moving too slowly for the ECA.. then start your own organization or a Vapers Club and get some people to start writing some letters and lobbying for you. I have given up much work and am going to go bankrupt cause all I do is research ecigs and politics now instead of going to work! Seriously... these arguments are a big waste of time!
Yes the ECA should have put up "proof" if they said they were gona.
BUT sometimes crap takes longer than expected.
Sometimes there are MORE impt things to tend to!

Someone find me a damn chemist to test exhaled vapor, a Dr to do the research on health effects, a lab who will run the tests for free and a few humans willing to donate the time for the lab tests and then we will be in business. I will need to find a NON-Vaper to write up results and avoid bias, but we could have some great info in 12-24 months!

I don't think that having an organization that supposedly represents our interests (and is asking for donations) show some proof of their actions, purpose and credentials is a "waste of time" - quite the contrary, in fact.
If I'm being asked for money by a group that "represents" me, the least they can do is provide some ID and proof of their intentions.

I totally understand where ou are coming fromn... but no one FORCED you to give them $. If you did so.. you did so of your own free will so we cannot complain. Those who disagree with the way they are doing things or think they are shady do not have to donate.
