Ok, thanks for the replies. I just keep hearing about how in a tank the level of wet filler material is dependent on the level inside the tank. It got me thinking that due to this, maybe a tank system would perform best if it is always kept upright, especially when it is getting low on juice. But I don't know, just a thought.

I have no problems with leaking at all. I usually keep my PV on its side, but just recently started thinking that maybe it would wick better kept upright. I do have problems keeping my carto wet without having to prime like crazy all the time.

Using 70pg/30vg juice in a dual hole fresh boge carto. Seems to always be a problem for me.

I slot mine, cut size is over 1/16"H x 1/4"W, often closer to 1/8" x 1/3", with a pretty thin DIY. Never a problem with needing to prime on a standard length carto, though I've never had success with XL (since I have good standard length cartos, I haven't cared to become good at using XL).

No impact at all so far. I've used a tank every day for 5 months, typically 3 fills/day, always top fill, slide the carto down, then slide it up after, carto change every 3 or 4 days. O ring has slid across the slots somewhere around 1000 times total, then, still fine. I did pick up a rebuild kit that includes o-rings, haven't touched it yet.

From my experience, it matters very little how the tank is left. I generally have 4 or 5 tanks laying around with different juices. While I generally try to set them upright, in reality they end up rolling around the counter. I also have a backup tank in my backpack I take to school and it get jostled around every which way and I can pull it out after a week and it vapes just like normal.

I do intend to find some nuts that have the same threads as the 510 (whatever that is, anyone know?), and epoxy them to a board so I have a carto-tank holder so my spare tanks don't roll around so much. But that is more to keep them in one place than any need for the tanks to be positioned in any particular way.

I lay mine on its side as well. No problems with leaking or wicking.

I also slot my cartos, but the caps rarely have to slide over the slots. I put the bottom one on from the bottom (doesn't slide over the slot). Then I put that into the tank. Then I put the top cap on from the top of the carto, and slide the top cap into the tank. The rubber parts rarely need to slide over the slots at all.
