My dse901 always sputter after I refill it. It does that put-put-put thing and the light blinks, kinda like when you jump start your car.

Now I know it's because the liquid is blocking the airflow thus causing the battery to not register the suction, but what I want to know is; how can I top off my carts without causing the sputtering.

p.s. I do blow out the atty. but it doesn't help.

Because I haven't found good filler yet I do get a puddle on top. It's not overflowing but the batting doesn't stay at the surface either. It definitely seems to be a blockage in the cart where between the inhaler hole and the opening within the cart because when I give it a good suck I usually get fluid.

....okay that sounded dirty, but whatever...

You just need to spend a few bucks and get some polyester quilters batting. I have the high loft fairfield brand poly from walmart. It works pretty good. Once you have that, you should be set. There are other things that you can do to your cart if you are inclined to do so, which seem to help get the most out of the polyfill, here are the links:

Cart Mod for better refilling (aka straw mod)

The spring mod

YMMV on any mod, but one thing I've found is, a plain jane cart is not good enough for me, I always have a ton of juice in the bottom half of my 810 carts, so I'm always topping off too early.

I hope this helps.

I'll definitely try the spring mod. It looks like the best cheap idea I've seen so far!
