find a vendor that sells the real thing and look closely at pics. i have a private v2 grand vapor clone. even has the name and a serial number. but i went to okcvapes.com and compaired it to the real thing. top cap is shaped different, body and bottom to. but it has a .17 volt drop across a .7ohm load and it cost 30 bucks compaired to 195. got it from vaportekusa.com on preorder had it in 8 days. can say its a nice mod that hits like a freight train but just not something thats top quality, u only get what u pay for.

The original ones usually have a branding on the device, the clearomizer, or the box it comes in.
For example, the Vivi Nova. The original would be the Vision Vivi Nova, so if it only states Vivi Nova with no Vision branding, it is a clone.
Are they crap? Well, yes and no depending on what it is. The concept is the same whether it is original or a clone, but the originals usually have better quality control. However, just because they are clones does not mean they all suck, even though the majority do suck. In rare instances I've heard the clones work as well as the originals, and in very rare occasions even better.

Just remember when you decide to get a clone over the original that you get what you pay for, so it'll ease the pain a little bit if they are crap.

Basically, it's like the generic food vs the brand name, sometimes the generic (clone) is just as good as the name brand (original) sometimes it isn't. Trial and error to find out who sells good clones and, the clone is probably not going to have the warranty or customer service of the original.

That said, the batteries and electronic inside these things are almost all made in China, clone or original so, it is possible to get a good quality clone that uses the same innards as the name brand. Just like semi trucks, you can get a Detroit 500 HP motor on an Eaton Road Ranger 13 speed transmission and, it can be a Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Western Star, Mac, Volvo or Marmon brand truck. Same thing other than the glider kit (outside cosmetic parts that do very little for how it runs.)

also like appliances..all are either made by Whirlpool or Frigidaire...but the outside may say Maytag, Kenmore, Amana. LG, etc..and same with computers, only 3-5 companies in world make all internal parts but the casing may say Dell, HP, Gateway, etc...so don't let a name or outside casing fool ya...most all Ecig hardware is made in China and I bet there are only a few plants there that make em all..

rounding third and heading home...
to quote the j geils band-"first I look at the purse". if you find ,let's say, an atomizer selling for $59 and find the same looking piece for$14.95 at another place you can pretty much bet the cheap one is a clone. of course, the first one could be a clone of something even pricier- then you are looking at a clone of a clone. come to think of it you can't be 100% sure of anything so just research the forum for answers, find something you like/want/need and buy it. then keep buying-it's the law. oh yeah, don't forget, you need a provari no matter how new you are to vaping and regardless of what you think you want......

I believe they are ALL made in China..so what would U call a clone?....they are basically all very much the same.. U have good Chevys and bad Chevys...some just cost more than others..

Please..if U are going to quote me, please do not take things out of context, omit the other statements, and imply something different..something many news media and politicians do..

like I basically said , there are good Kangars and bad Kangars..and good clones and bad clones...but ya never know until ya get one..

I want to chime in here-
From personal experience I found out that there are 2 versions of the vivi nova (or mini vivi nova)
1 is genuine authentic Vision Vivi Nova (mini)
2 is smoketech Vivi Nova (mini)

Now the most noticeable difference between the 2 vivi nova minis are that Vision Vivi nova has the threads on the outside of the tank where smoketech threads are on the inside of the tank.

I hope this helps.

I can find and post some photos if requested.
