Variety of factors affect your atty. Type of juice, how long you've had it for.

Me, I go with an atty until it gets annoying (as in I have to take longer pulls, more misfires, etc). That's when I dump it.

If it's not doing what you like, put on a new atty and compare. If you think you can still live with what you've got, keep at it. If not, toss it or save it as an emergency atty.

Attys aren't built to last forever, I keep a good supply on hand. The ones that start giving me problems I toss in a glass and when I get 6 or more, I drop a Polydent tablet in fill with hot water and let sit for an hour. Rinse, let dry overnight, a couple of drops on the atty to prime it and away we go.

I am not sure how to tell if my atty's are going bad. I am using a vv mod and it seems like I have to crank it up more on some than others. Does this mean the atty is going bad? I keep changing the batteries and that sometimes helps and sometimes does not.

thanks!

An atty should hiss loud enough that it is clearly heard when holding up to your ear in a noisy room. If you can't hear it under these circumstances then the atty is history.
