how will i be notified with a subscribed thread

I think I subscribe to a thread, so does that mean any new post will show up in my notification window?

If you chose to be notified by email, you will get an email notification.
If you chose to be notified through your control panel it will be in Settings, there is no pop up window for this.
If you don't see the thread in Settings, there have been no new posts.
