Thread Subscriptions

Is there any way to get notified (under the notifications) when someone posts something new in a particular thread? I tried subscribing, but it isn't notifying me of new posts. Sorry, I posted this on chitchat too, but realized it probably belonged here.

make sure you marked ''instant by email'' as your preference for notifications

Thank you for the help, I'll do that. I was avoiding it because I thought it would just send a notification to my email account.

why don't you look under ''my posts'' any thread you posted in will show up and indicate if there are new posts

If you click on "Settings" up in the top right of the forum page, it will list your current subscriptions that have new posts (and there will be a button you can click to show all of your subscribed threads). You won't get a notification that somebody has posted, but it's still a good way to keep up with threads you have subscribed to

under subscription options is a setting for notification through control panel only. what does that mean? thanks

that means you won't get an email but you can check in your control panel and all of the subscribed threads with replies will be listed.

I take things literally, so sorry, I am sure this is stupid, but is the control panel under "settings"? I don't see anything that says control panel
