Howdy everyone.
As you can see I'm a newbie. I stopped smoking Oct 14th and picked up vaping then. I've smoked since I was 14. Over 2 yrs I've had a biventrricular defibrillator. Similar o a pacemaker because I went into congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema.
I never used nicotine in my vap. I am very visual so I was right about being able to mix a flavor I like. Problem is, it's been like a pacifier!

I look forward to learning from everyone.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I hope your health problems are less severe since you stopped smoking cigarettes and that you are feeling better. Since you say you don't use nic I was wondering if you started vaping because of the fact that smokers are used to inhaling/exhaling something and holding something like a cigarette in our hands? Yes, vaping can become a "pacifier" or hobby to many of us but it is so much better than the alternative imho.

Welcome crazyldyntx to ECF. This forum is a wealth of information and a great place to chit chat.

I smoked many many years and quite heavily. I have had a pacemaker for 11 years now. My cardiologist has talked to me a few times about quitting smoking. She knew if she pressed me to hard on this subject I probably would not go to any scheduled appointments. I have been vaping since last June....mixing in a few cigarettes here and there.

It's now been 3 months since I have had a cigarette and have gone 100% to vaping. I have cut my nicotine down from 24mg to 12mg. My plans are to be nicotine free in March.

I have an appointment with my cardiologist in a week and can't wait to see her reaction about what I have been doing. She'll be ecstatic to know that I finally have a goal to be nicotine free.

Hi, crazyldyntx, and welcome to ECF! A fun place to spend time. I too am sorry to hear about your health issues and hope no longer smoking will help you feel better!

I smoked for 47 years and quit almost immediately when I found vaping (other than on a cigalike.) Sooo grateful to be able to quit, even though I loved to smoke. Secretly, I think that vaping is the equivalent of an adult pacifier!! Even moreso than the cigs were, maybe! Oh, well....enjoy!!
