Hey all, long time forum stalker first time poster. A little about myself:

i was in the Army for 10 years and did two deployments to Iraq, where it just so happens my smoking addiction ramped up. I was up to a pack a day roughly. During the last couple years of my military stint I became a volunteer firefighter. While hanging out at the firehouse someone walked in with an iTaste VV and it got my attention. Something along the lines of "that tastes just like gummy bear I want one!" Lol. I switched back and forth from the e-cig to the real cigs for a year until I moved back to Texas and a coworker started planting subliminal messages to get a new e-cig. So I picked up a sigelei and started upgrading it slowly and tweaking it. Next came the natural evolution to mechs and I must say I have been enjoying the hell out of my Maraxus. I have built so many coils it's my new favorite hobby. I'm up to three rda's now, Paradigm Magma, Tobh Atty, and just picked up a PlumeVeil clone yesterday. So I figured with all the browsing of the forum I have done since diving into the mech world I might as well sign up so I can actually talk with you all and ask questions etc.

so yeah....that's me. Look forward to being a member of this awesome community!

Sure! Might as well fire off a question:

I just picked up the plumeveil and I am trying to get better coil builds for it. Right now I have a dual 24ga running at .33ohm (wish I could get it closer to .4 or slightly above) and while it works good, I am looking for something that heats up a little faster and can really get more vapor out of it. Not really "cloud chasing" more of "cloud appreciation" lol. When fired without the cap it doesn't kick out the vapor I have seen other builds (some with a higher ohm than mine) produce. So I figure work on a better coil, maybe try different wicking style(s)?

Welcome to ECF!!! :toast: It's understandable being in the military, I had a friend take up smoking because of fighting in the war, but at least you're making a healthier choice to vape. Just be careful with mechs and rdas it can get really expensive and addicting.

Did you have a question?

One small trick that helps, if you don't have it already is a wide bore drip tip, it will help a lot with a loser draw and more air flow equals more vapor. But a .33 ohms should be a good amount of vapor, it could be the way you wicked your coils, you want to make sure it's not too tight or too lose and that your cotton is smooth, with NO bumps, or hard parts.

Also it is very addicting in about 4 months I picked up 8 mechs, 3 tanks, 7 rdas, 7-9 drip tips, 10 batteries plus supplies and accesories and other things I can't remember, I just bought 3 authentic mods in the last 3 weeks.

I do have the wide bore drip tip, the clone came with one, and I have another for my other two RDA's. And it could very well be my wicking, I can wrap pretty coils but my wicks are 2nd grade art class IMO. I've read up, watched vids and experimented but I don't think I'm getting the most out of my cotton. It's snug in the coil to where it stays but you can pull it through either way. Maybe I will just spend a day redoing wicks lol.

Just make sure the actual opening stays wide to the base and you're a step closer to bigger clouds. Another tip is don't suck in the vapor, but take a big inhale like your taking a deep breathe except with the drip tip in your mouth, and make sure your coils are directly lined up with your air holes and your air holes are not blocked by cotton, and if you can keep the bottom of your coils exposed you'll get more vapor, but will have to drip more often.

A good wick job is just as important if not more important than a good coil build.
