Howdy all, i'm new here but i'm a 60 year old cowboy who smoked big time for 48 of these 60 years, I started this vaping stuff in January of this year after two stays in the hospital. I haven't had a real smoke since Jan. 5th but this new world of vaping is getting overwhelming.
Hope you all can teach this old dog a thing or two.. thanks in advance.

Hello Stitch and welcome to ECF!

Don't worry about your age, you fit right in here. I smoked for 32 years of my life, and you find stories just like yours all over the forum..

Yes, all the new lingo and the plethora of choices, well.. It is a whole new world.

But that's okay there are people like me who have gone before you that can help you navigate the waters.

Do you have a specific question now? We are more than happy to help just ask whatever you need! Just ask. ..

Hello @Stitch45 and welcome to ECF! Big congratulations to you on giving vaping a go - and no cigs since Jan 5th! I smoked for 38 years but now I love vaping. There are plenty of people to help you out here. All you have to do is ask...we all had to start some where and it can be daunting in the beginning. Bit like learning a new language!

Right on Stitch45. It's just Never too Late to give up Cigarettes.

Don't let the Enormity of Choices and Options overwhelm you. Most of it is just Glitter to catch the eye. Find something that Works and you Like, get a complete Back-Up system/Coils/e-Liquid/etc, and you are doing Fine.

Hi and Welcome-
Vaping and will power helped me quit my 30+ year love affair with cigarettes! I have been cigarette free for over 3 years now and only used the Mistic Bridge Kit from Walgreens in the beginning, hey worked for me.
Now I use RTAs and RDTAs, dual battery mods and waiting for my HCigar VT Inbox to arrive to get back to trying squonking again. You are never to old to learn- trust me!
Congrats on quitting cigarettes and there are many good folks here to help you stay that way!

Thank you all for the welcome.
It was actually a Doctor in the hospital that reccomende I give vaping a try because I new I would go back to smoking when I got out.
I am amazed at how much better I feel. I do have some questions I will post that I hope you can help me with, the nearest vape store to me is 60 miles away so I'm going to lean on you folks here for real world advise.

Welcome Stitch, and congrats on switching to vaping. Even though I'd vaped before and was sort of a dilettante of vaping for a while, I really didn't know much.

ECF was HUGELY helpful when I showed up here, ready to quit. SOMEONE had the answer to any and all questions I asked, and it's a great place to learn (honestly for me, better than a vape shop).

You can do it ALL without a (real world) vape shop, from learning DIY eliquid making to how to coil a stubborn, rebuildable coil, and how to find the right equipment for your style of vaping as you advance up the vaping ladder.

Welcome to ECF and huge congrats for the decision to switch to vaping. And, I am always THIRLLED when I hear a doctor recommend vaping to a smoker, it seems like that is happening more of late.

Welcome and a HUGE congrats. I'm so glad you are feeling better, I was amazed how I felt compared to being a 3 ppd smoker coming here with a diagnosis of "almost" COPD (I don't have that dx now) but having straight pneumonia for 18 months, more or less. I no longer even UNDERSTAND how I lived that way, vaping is a life saver for sure.

Welcome :)

Anna
