You said you would have to get down to a .18 to get 20 amps? That may be true on a 3.7v battery..... A FRESH charged battery on a mech mod outputs at 4.2 on a fresh charge. It drops down from 4.2 to 3.7 and stays at 3.7 for a while. Most vented batteries happen on a fresh battery.
Thanks for the pro-tip! Will keep that in mind! I though that might be the case, as my clampmeter was reading a solid 4 on all my 18650's (it doesn't measure milivolts for DC :/ I was too lazy to find my actual multimeter)
Awesome to know, I'll be sure to include that on top of what I was already figuring on including as a "safe zone". With this added knowledge I probably won't drop below .22-.23

Every day vape - 26G dual coil, 10 wraps @ 2.5mm, 0.6 ohms
More extreme - 24G dual coil,8 wraps @ 2.5mm, 0.33 ohms
Fancy twisted coils (fused biscuit barrel salty sea-dog amigio Clapton etc..) can produce better surface area and more vapor. I personally find simple micro coils work just fine for me.

At these lower resistances you will need to open up your airflow, and the vape will be a lot hotter.
Always test your builds on a an ohm meter to make sure you so not have any shorts and that the resistance is as expected.
Use Steam Engine | free vaping calculators to plan your builds, and also to check that you are within the range of the amount of amps your battery can provide plus some safety head room. Don't trust the battery presets on steam-engine as some of them are wrong. A simple search on ECF will produce plenty of results on a batteries true CDR (continuous discharge rate). Your Efest for instance has a 10 amp CDR.

There are hundreds of tutorial videos on youtube covering coil wrapping, wicking etc. Here are a couple to get you started.

Yes sir you would be safe with the .23 build, but that only gives you 1 amp of overhead protection, which is safe. Just MY OPINION, shoot for a .3 build, it gives off 14 amps on a fresh charge, and 12.3 amps on a 3.7 charge (Your normal battery output will stay at 3.7 for the most part of your "vaping" experience during the day). So that is very safe to be at .3ohms. There is a little bit of difference in .2 and .3, but unless youre trying to win a cloud competition, or you like living on the "edge", a .3 coil will give you loads of vapor, and you will not be stressing your battery to its limits, which in turn will help your battery last longer and the voltage wont drop off as bad.

Awesome to hear! I'm actually pretty familiar with electronics and DC electricity, but I never even thought about battery drain/ initial overcharge! That's something I never realized because my DC currents were always stable (work mostly with 12/16 volt systems in cars or wall transformers) so it's excellent to have received that knowledge. I may not even drop to .3Ω as the throat hit/heat with 1.1Ω is already pretty rough on a fresh charge. I've never vaped anything lower so I don't know off hand, maybe .9Ω isn't much different from 1.1Ω but .3 is like day and night, only one way to find out :D it will be a matter of experimenting to find the sweet spot (while staying above .3Ω). Pretty excited to try some different coil builds too! That steam coil calculator is a godsend lol.

On a side note, does anyone know of a cheap, efficient way to test juices? Stopping at a local juice shop was a good experience for me, but I'm curious of company avenues. It would be foolish to spend between $9-$22 for a bottle of juice just to hate it, but the local shops have some steep prices if you buy from them. It was like 30+ dollars I think for the sugar bear, when I can buy it here for $12... I think my bottle might be bigger, but even if it's a 30ml, that's still a $8+ price hike (Edit: I found the 30ml for $21.99). I know they have to make money, and I'm happy to support my local vaping community, but I can't afford to do that all the time, especially to try new flavors that I may not like...

Hey just trying to get my five. four to go
People here are extremely friendly and ready to communicate, if you just post an intro thread (which I see you have), as I have done here, you could easily get your five posts by communicating with those in the community who are greeting you, rather than leaving an irrelevant post in someone else's thread. :2c:

I'm rather new here myself, but welcome to the e-cigarette forum!;)

Not really bro. I mean it's hit and miss with juices. The BEST way to test juices is find a buddy that already uses that juice lol. I found 1 B&M Shop that actually had cuttwood brand open to test on drippers (Just so they could get you to test their houseblend so you would buy it instead of the cuttwood brand). I highly recommend certain juice, but I will not name drop in the forum, simply because I don't want to be banned for "endorsing", because i'm not affiliated with the company, but it is the only company I buy juice from, mostly because I chain vape and it is cheap for 236mL for $34.99. (That's a lot of juice!!!!!!).
