It would, but not by much. I don't think they would only put air holes on one side and if they did, that's silly. There may be some technical reason if they are only on one side... You can always drill your own.
This cap is super thick, before I'm starting to make my own modifications I really like to understand their original design, what's behind this decision...
I typically align the holes centered with one of the negative posts to get airflow horizontal along both coils. With such a huge deck it seems to get plenty. If I have both holes aimed at just one coil it will indeed dry that one much faster, than the one in back. I also build my coils to be in line with the center positive post and centered between the edge of the deck and posts, and about 3-4 mm high.
