HUGE difference between boge 510 LR Cartomizers...Black vs Stainless steel

Alright, what the heck is going on, i'm baffled. So, i jumped from a 2 piece design (greensmoke) to an ego-t tank, which then leaked, and made me go all out, and decide to buy my first, and last mod, the Provari. I ordered a ton of stuff between Vaporesance ( liquinador, 20 stainless steel slotted LR cartomizers and 20 non-slotted SS LR cartomizers) Provape ( Provari, extended cap, batteries, ect.) and Ms T's bakery (juice 6 30 mL bottles of 18mg e-juice) I first tried out the silver 510 cartomizers on my ego 1000MaH battery, and man, that burt the hell out of the "cotton" and i guess i filled it wrong, so i tried the condom method, same thing, burnt. then i tried it grimm greens way, same thing. Then my Provari came in, with an extra 5 pack of Black Boge 510 LR cartomizers, I tried them, and they worked! So i thought Vaporesance made a mistake, the SS cartomizers didnt come with any condoms over them, so i thought it wasn't too legit, so i sent them back, and waiting on them to send me some black ones. In the mean time, I used the black cartomizers, damn they lasted long, i only had to re-fill them maybe once or twice a day, and I loved vaping them at 4.7 volts. So when it came time to use the SS steel boge 510 cartomizers from a different website (instead of Vaporesance I bought them from "Sweet Vapes"), THE SS CARTOMIZERS WILL BURN AT 4.3 VOLTS, RIGHT NOW IM STUCK WITH BOGE 510 LR SS CARTOMIZERS THAT CAN ONLY VAPE AT 3.7 VOLTS, BARELY ANY VAPOR VOLUME, AND I HAVE TO SIT THERE AND PULL ON IT FOR 10 SECONDS. Am I the only one on this? Im so confused but at the same time pretty upset. Please Get back to me on this

I highly recOmmend you try filling your cartos with a syringe. First fill is very important and this will ensure its done correctly

And after filling with a syringe, leave them sit for at least ten minutes. It really does matter.

Hi Spencer,
Did you punch the SS cartos yourself? Maybe the punched hole is not big enough to let enough juice flow into the carto. There is also another layer of "metal" under the outside casing. It's very thin but you have to make sure you get through that too.
Another trick you can try is to take a few hits without pushing the power button. Take a hit and then look at the hole in the carto. You should see little air bubbles come out of it.

Just FYI - it's not easy to use high-VG juices in Boge cartos (and I don't know what works best carto tanks). The juices you bought have more VG (thick) than PG (thin). In Boges I get great use with 80PG/20VG. It spreads through the stuffing easily, only need 15 minutes of settling after the first fill (I lay the carto on different sides for that long).

I haven't noticed any difference between the SS and black boge's that I have and the punched cartos I have bought have never arrived with the rubber caps on the ends, but unpunched cartos have them.

I am sure the black boges are SS with a black sticker on them. If you want to punch your own cartos, buy the SS and save some hassle of pulling the stickers off and cleaning the glue off the carto

Have you bothered to check the resistances on the SS Boge's? I have about 200 SS LR's Boge (1.5ohm) and love them but can only be vaped at 3.7V. Anything higher, THEY WILL BURN. If you want to use your ProVari at a higher voltage, you need to buy 3.0ohm (standard resistance). That will eliminate your problem with the burnt taste.

Power ( in watts ) = voltage^2 / resistance. You want to stay under 12 watts to prevent burning and around 8 watts usually produces a great vaping experience.

4.7v^2 / 1.5 ohms = 14.73 watts (too hot)
4.7v^2 / 3.0 ohms = 7.63 watts (the sweet spot)

I agree with hairball. Maybe you need to check your resistances on the cartos. I use stainless cartos exclusively in liquinators and homemade tanks. Occasionally, you'll get a carto that won't wick well. You have to be sure that you are matching the resistance of the carto to a appropriate voltage. Going varibale voltage has a bit of a learning curve.
