I use the ZFM cart mod so my atty's are "always" fed, and its worth mentioning that while I get the burnt atty taste on the GLV, I'll switch it over to the Protege or a standard 510 battery, take a few hauls to clear the burnt taste, and then it works without giving that bad taste again but on the 3.7-4.2v devices.

VapeOn,
Greg
Are you sure your atty is always fed? The reason why I asked, is that although I thought my attys were always fed with the HighPing mod (closest thing to dripping), they were not feeding my LRs quick enough. It was alright in the beginning as you described then blah. That situation has been resolved with dripping.

Because what you have described shouldn't be happening with a properly feeding cart, even on the GLV. That is also why most folks who use HV devices drip, or so it is my understanding.

I agree with your assumption Switched, however I'm not a heavy or hard vaper myself. I'll take a hit or two then set it down (which is why I vape 36mg),

This is why I suspect too high a voltage for my atty or juice when compared to a lesser voltage device which works great, BUT....... I truly enjoy the "feel" of the GLV in my hand because of its size and button placement and would love to make it work at a lower atty "fed" voltage.

** I may have to breakdown and try purchasing a HV atty or two and see if this gives me what I'm looking for without tearing into the GLV to adjust my assumed problem.

What voltage does the GLV produce? It's nowhere on their site. Let's work through this together.

The GLV is supposed to be a 5v device with two 3.6v batteries, however, on a fresh charged set I get a reading of 8.4v at the atty connector with no atty in place (connector pin to connector housing, which is too high for my liking.

As stated above, I'm going to work out the propper rated resistor to only allow a feed voltage of 4.2 volts nominal.

I had an idea that is what was happening.

I have a SD coming and that is the limit I am going with mods. I had considered the Chameleon and have since given up on that idea. No need for it and the industry seems to be moving away from HV.

I made myself a couple of box mods using 14500 batts on @ 3.7V the other @ 5V. The AVR nocks the volts down to 5V at the atty connection, what happens after that is a moot point to me. I use SLBs and 801s on that one and they work great. I did not like 801s at 3.7V but they do good @ 5Volts

I am waiting for my other batt connectors to build one more, this one in parallel. A 3.7V capable of 1800 mAh.

Based on the announcement wrt FDAs stay, I am now fully dug in for the long haul as it seems that Canada follows the US pretty closely. Although equipment is still OK for imports. I am not taking any chances. If the ban is ever lifted, I will not need supplies for a long while with the exception of juice.
