as I was looking through my collection, I realized I didn't have any hybrid mods! So I've decided I need two. One in 18650 and one in 18350. I prefer authentic, but don't really mind clones. Price isn't really a big deal, but the less expensive the better. :) I haven't done much research on them, anyone got any suggestions?

OP, are you aware of the safety implications of a hybrid mod?

yes. I am a safety "freak". I understand how everything works, and what needs to be done. I check all my Attys on three different devices, two different times. I know that everytime someone blows their MOD up, it puts us one step closer to regulation that will make us not able to vape...I don't want to be "that guy".

When I said I haven't researched them much, I should've said I havent researched who makes them, I've done plenty of research on how they work and how to use them appropriately.

Thanks for the concern, I wish more people had a "safety first" mentality.

here is a true hybrid set-up, the ELM has no holes in the posts you wrap under the screw......you have to be familiar with your builds because the only way to check it would be with a DMM....great combo to have.

the Vapelyfe (bottom pic) is also a true hybrid and also very reasonable, yet it has a recessed switch, the Copper model is suppose to hit very hard....i have the silver version and it hits well.....believe angel-cigs usa ware-house has a few versions and i know slo-tek does.

Thats cool, but I was referring specifically to the hybrid connection. What these connections do is allow the positive of your battery to connect directly to the 510 post of your atty. Unfortunately this also creates a very real possibility of having the adapter connect to both the positive AND the negative of the 510 creating a hard short. Attys with unusually short 510 posts, with 510 positive pins that do not protrude enough or attys with spring loaded 510 positive pins should be avoided. Its best to use a button top battery and to connect the hybrid adapter to the battery first allowing you to inspect the 510 first before putting it into the mod.
In light of this, the SMPL (which has a fixed hybrid connector) also has an internal raised lip under the top cap that rests on the outer rim of the battery. This makes it harder for this accidental shorting to occur.
I have a copper SMPL in the mail which I'm going pair up with a copper Tugboat V2.

If this is redundant information I apologize, but just wanted to make sure.

just in case anyone is curious, just ordered a C Note mod....100 bucks for an authentic isn't bad. Now to look for some nice RTAs...lol

The cnotes are pretty cool. Just got the el sigilo by wu tang h.o.ms that is about the same size. Does the cnote have a hybrid connecting top cap?
