Hybrid Ring question

I have an Stingray-X mod (Clone) with a Stillare Atty and want to know

1. What is the Hybrid ring that the Stingray-X came with?
2. How can I use it?
3. Is there any benefit to it?

I know it's a dumb question but I figured I'll just ask the experts.

It replaces the top cap and allows the atomizer to contact the battery directly! Reduced voltage drop is the primary advantage, but it increases the possibility of a hard short! Makes the mod shorter too!
