Ok so i will try and be quick here.

I purchased a new Z-Atty Pro from Provape on 5/30 of this year ( v2.1 ) and it arrived. It came prebuilt so i test fired it, all looked good and i filled it up and started vaping. I notice the taste was nasty, Very muted and had a steel taste to it? I figured even though it was pre-built i would tear it apart and wash it really good. I followed the steps on cleaning it, taking off the glass, etc, etc. When i got to the part of putting the glass tank back on ( i lubed the O-rings and tank w juice ) the tank just split! right in half! WOW, Ok? This "Fused Quartz" sounds like its so strong? Well i never seen this happen EVER to a glass tank i have owned. Of course Google comes back with results of everyone having the same issue with this so called "Fused Quartz"..

Ok, I was told by Provape that they do not cover the tank and that it would be a good idea to buy a spare tank or maybe even a stainless steel tank! OH BOY! Ok, Since the tank that comes with the 140.00 RBA isnt strong enough to even install on the device its made for, then sure ill buy another spare or 2! making the actual price closer to 200.00 for this thing..

Ok so fine, i bought 2 tanks..

Once i get the replacements tanks, I begin to build a SS wick and put it together.. All is going good. Got it built and start vaping. I notice that my Proari kept throwing error codes at me? So i check it out and notice the spring loaded pin isnt spring loaded anymore? and that all its doing is pushing up on the pin and making the screw on the positive post to push up and hit the top cap? Um.. ok? So like anyone i attempt to screw it back down. Well come to find out these center posts/pins or whatever you want to call them are either press fit or glued into place? Rather odd to have something press fit or glued especially when there is heat being applied to it all the time and always has pressure pushing on it due to the spring.. Google comes back showing its ANOTHER common issue and i can either throw some glue on my 140.00 RBA or Provape will cover it!

Ok great! back it goes to Provape and even though this is a manufacturing issue, I have to cover shipping there.

Ok well i get it back today! and i take it out, remove the ceramic build that came pre-installed and notice that there is no insulator in the wick hole? Hmm, thats odd? The 2.1 i just sent back had a insulator and Provape is telling me that the new 2.1 version does not come with a insulator. Ok? but the 2.1 i sent back had one? I had a feeling that maybe i got a used one in return?

Anyways, along with that, the bottom cap/skirt that covers the provari top cap was loose? and after a turn or 2 the cap came off and behold! I have a Z-Atty U! No longer a Z-Atty Pro?!?!? It looks as if this bottom cap/skirt is held onto bottom of the ZAP with glue, since i can see some tiny marks of what looks to be glue?

I email Provape once again and they tell me, Well that is not suppose to happen and i ask them, did you send me a used/refurbed ZAP? They said no, They would never do such a thing.

So once AGAIN! I have to ship it back, Pay for return shipping on something that once again is a manufacturing defect and then wait another week or more?

So I have purchased a ZAP that in the end, costed me almost 200.00 and since day 1 of 5/30/2013 i have gotten to use the ZAP for a total of 2 days!!!

WOW!!! I am shocked that with all the issues i am having Provape could not send me out a replacement FIRST along with a return shipping label? Seeing as how i have had nothing but problems with it since day 1? and also seeing as how they sent out a replacement that was non working. The bottom cap was loose when i opened it, So there is no way this thing could have broke the glue and loosened itself during shipping?

and i am also shocked at Zen or whoever that this thing is pretty much held together by all glue? Are you serious? at 140 bucks the best they can do is glue?

I sure hope Provape makes a effort to take care of my problem and that i dont have to send it back AGAIN and wait and wait and wait..

The ZAP is useable right now, yes.. but down the road i can see the bottom cap causing a big issue since it is now removable. The insulator issue is not a issue to me, It just strikes me as odd.

I am trying my best not to bash the ZAP because i love Zens products and i love Provape's stuff ( i own 2 provari's and want 1 more ) but with the price of the devices and hardware, There QC and the customer service not really doing much but continuing to tell me to ship it back, I am beginning to think twice.

I am sure ill get bashed for posting this but i am just beyond furious right now about this and on top of that, I have been playing email tag ever since with Provape about a solution other then the usual.

I attached a pic of my new ZAP / ZAU

I have had 5 zap/ZAU's and two of them the bottom trip piece would unscrew like yours did, I actually liked it better that way, makes it more versatile so I can use it on multiple devices.

You know, I actually kind of like it to but i was informed by Provape that its not suppose to be like that ( obviously ) my only problem is that, Will this cause any type of problems? leaks? or anything over time?

How long have you had the 2 that have the bottom cap unscrew? Have you noticed any issues or any leaking? or anything that can happen down the road?

I mean if this wont be a problem, Then i might actually just say screw it and keep it then. I just purchased a new Z-Atty U right before my replacement came back. I mean its almost like having a Z-Atty U and a Pro in one technically.

As long as it wont cause a problem for me down the road, then i will just keep it and clean off all the dried up glue on it.

Only downside is that the center post threading is really long and sticks out if you remove the bottom cap to use on another device.. BUT my other 2 devices have a adjustable center pin, so without the cap on, its sits flush on them.

That's crazy talk..... As long as the mod is the same diameter as the glass tube or larger I don't see the problem. I used a zap with its shroud removed for quite a while with my HanaMod with zero issue. Don't ship it back, again. I would get them to send you a Zen replacement parts kit so you will have a isolator for the mesh.

I have three z attys. 1 ZAU and 2 ZAPs. My all day, everyday setup is a provari with a zap on top. I have tried many other atomizers, and by far the most flavorful, easy to setup, and consistent setup has been my ZAP. If you understand how it works and clean it properly you won't have any issues.

I usually run a wick and coil for about 3 months before I recoil. Make sure you do weekly dry burns on the coil (depending on the juice you use, YMMV). The center post can be taken off, and then take out the spring and bottom pin. Toss these in a nice iso bath and polish off the pin on the bottom and spring. The spring gunks up after a while, so make sure you have it properly cleaned. The skirt that unscrewed for you only happened on my newest ZAP purchase. I actually enjoy being able to take it off, because I can clean more parts of the atty. The o'rings that the glass tank slides into can be a hassle to take off. Make sure that when you are putting it on to dab a little e-juice on both. More on the top one, less on the bottom. And be gentle when removing it. Just turn clockwise and then counter clockwise to remove it while pushing up.

Let me know if you have any other questions. The ZAP is an awesome atty. I have tried them all (Cobra, DID, AC9, etc) and I still go to my ZAP for consistent vaping.

Maf,
I apologize for the inconvenience and troubles you are having with the ZAP, please send jennifer@provape.com a email about the replacement parts. She will get you all squared away.

Yeah, I think i will take a pass on that one. I have been playing Email tag for a week about my ZAP, since Provape only believes in helping there customer via email. You would think for the price on the devices and hardware you sell there would be some type of phone support? Getting a reply about once a day and after about a week of playing email tag, The resolution turned out to be the usual.

Yeah, I will pass and take this as a lesson learned.

Thanks
