Hi all...new to the forums here. Thanks for having me.
Today is the first day of my journey to quitting smoking real cigs. I have been a pack and a half smoker of Camel Light 99s for about 10 years. Have tried to quit many times via various methods:
Patch
Gum
Inhaler
Cold Turkey
All coupled with XANAX - No joke

I purchased the Joye 510 and some great liquid from Backwoods Brew and I am REALLY enjoying NOT smoking, lol! It really stuns me how much I am enjoying vaping...Just like the real McCoy...only the taste is even better than cigs...same great throat hit and feel that you get in your mouth from a real cig, it even looks like smoke is coming from your mouth. NONE of the odor, ashes, ashtrays and when setting down your cigs while busy with your hands does not waste the rest of the cig....no worries about burning anything...this is truly AMAZING! I don't even want a real cig and can't beleive it to be true! When I tried all those other methods, I was a bundle of nerves and constantly on edge...so badly trying to figure out what to do with my time and hands and cravings...now, I have something to do with my hands, and have NO CRAVINGS....

Thanks to the developers of this site....I am so encouraged by other's success stories and all the information here.

I especially want to thank Donald Krum from Backwoods Brew...he has been very helpful to me on the start up process....and answered many of my questions. His Applewood tobacco is out of this world delicious...Thanks Donald :p

Will update tomorrow

lmrasch - Great post, I too am getting hooked on vaping as I am a newbie too. Got my TW Tornado yesterday and it's like a whole new world is opening up in just 24 hrs. Furthermore, the people on this site rule, the vets are so friendly and continue to answer the same newbie questions over and over, including mine, and they still are so nice and friendly about it!!! It really is great to have that kind of unconditional support! Thanks Vets!

Like you I'm excited to stop the ash trays, holes in the car and clothes, the smell, and etc.

However, I didn't take the vets advice on this site and get some flavored juice like you did when i got my starter pack. I feel like such a dope. Thanks for the feed back on Don and Backwoods Brew. Plan to order from him this weekend..

Keep us up to date on things...

Thanks for all the feedback from everyone...and good luck to the other noobs here :)

Day 2 of "The Journey"

Well, I had 3 analogs yesterday and I don't feel bad about that at all...considering I didn't smoke the other usual 27 average for the day ;)

My Joye 510 became the PEACE PIPE at our house last night, lol! We had some friends and family over and they all wanted to try it....was really fun...They were all so encouraged and now can't wait to order their own...We will all shout FREEDOM! together....

Quick question about the filler material that holds the drops in the vaporizer....Every time I go to pull off the mouth piece, the filler material sticks to the vapor bridge instead of coming out with the mouth piece...this is very irritating...Is it ok to just shove it back into the mouthpiece part? TIA

Yes just shove it back in but dont be tempted to pick 'hairs' from off your bridge - they usually end up being the wicking threads and without them you'll ruin atty for using carts.
Its actually not a bad thing that the filler is doing this btw, it mens its close enough to the top of the cart for the atty to get the juice, sometimes the filler wiggles down too far resulting in a harsh acrid taste as the jucie can't reach the bridge properly.

Thanks for the feedback....that's reassuring :p

(((hugs))) to all the new folks finding freedom! Don't even look back, your slavery is over.
If you'd like to try non-tobacco flavors, my fave and only vendor is Ms Ts Bakery. The flavors are out of this world and she's such a wonderful lady to boot! You can find her here on the forum suppliers.

I so agree...FREEDOM!
I'll check out Ms Ts too....is she an american manufacturer? I'm a little leary of purchasing any liquid from China suppliers...

I'm new to vaping, only 1 month...I still smoke alittle, but I'm working on it. I bought my son a 510 from Freedomsmokeusa and he loves his new toy. We also got their Newport flavor and it's pretty good. Best Iv'e tried yet. I hope to quit completely by this Monday.

That's funny, I purchased a 510 for my son when I got mine...he loves it! We got the Applewood flavor from Backwoods Brew and it is delicious!

Do not twist the cartridge once you have connected it to the atomizer.
Twisting the cartridge tends to get the filler material snagged on the bridge.

Make sure to push the cartridge straight on and pull it straight off.
That should solve the problem.

 DUH! LOL! That's exactly what I've been doing....Adjusting it to line up after I put it together....I will now line it up b4, lol! Thanks a ton:)

Though electronic devices can be slightly frustrating at times, my first impression of an e-cig was CLEAN! Smelled good, felt good, and was utterly a pleasure to give up stink on day one!

Thanks for the encouragement!

What a great post! Sounds like the party was fun too. I clearly remember the first time I tried the e-cigarette, I knew at that moment that my life would never be the same again. I had tried all the methods you mentioned to quit (even popped a xanax too when the anxiety of quiting got too intense). It's been 7 months for me now and I haven't experienced ANY of those old familiar side effects from not smoking cigarettes. I have to pinch myself, cause I don't really feel like I'm not smoking, but my lungs, taste buds and smell have all been healing. Welcome to the forum, please post often.
