I have three I-ATTY genesis RBA's they are my go to RBA at the moment; I have a little experience with them so follow along.

I've drilled out the air hole to various sizes depending on the vape I'm after, stock is 1mm, the two others are drilled out to 2mm and 3mm.

I have used several wick methods (all with fill hole open);

500 SS mesh hollow
500 SS mesh solid*
500 SS mesh with silica 2mm core
3/32 SS wire rope with a 500 SS mesh sleeve under the coil*
Cotton through the deck
Cotton to the deck

I have used a variety of kanthal a1

32g
32g x 2 strands twisted
32g x 3 strands twisted
32g x 4 strands twisted*
28g
28g x 2 strands twisted*
28g x 3 strands twisted

*best results for me

As for ohms I tend to hover around the 0.5 to 0.7 area regardless of coiling method (open or micro).

My current (vaping right now) coil is 32g x 4 strands twisted 5/4 micro style on a 400 SS mesh solid wick at 0.6 ohms using the 2mm top cap.

I torch my kanthal prior to twisting and again prior to coiling (go easy on the 32g you are just removing the springiness), this makes constructing tight coils easier.

I twist my wire using a drill, and do so until it is tightly wound but not buckled at any point. You can do 2 strands at a time or all 4, the results can be slightly different but the difference is very very slight.

Heat up your twisted wire with a torch or gas stove top in one smooth pass.

Your tiny screwdriver that came with your I-ATTY is 2mm in diameter and should work to wind coils, wind clockwise with each coil touching the one prior to it, count 5 wraps over the top (makes a 5/4 coil). Trim leads to 25mm. Set the coil aside.

Cut out a 32mm x 64mm section of 500 SS mesh, 32mm is the wick height. Wrap this as tightly as possible by hand, then torch the wick and tighten it up by rolling the wick between 3x5 cards or similar on a flat sturdy surface.

Now remove the screwdriver from your coil, carefully insert the wick (this is the fun part); it should fit perfectly with just a bit of tension. Eyeball the coil placement on the wick by holding along side the I-ATTY trim any excess wick from the bottom only at this time.

Loosen the positive and negative screws just slightly, insert the wick and coil assembly making sure it remains centered through assembly. Trap the negative lead first, then trap the positive lead. Using tweezers or other pointy tools adjust the coil to be centered on the positive post and in the wick hole.

Once the wick and coil are positioned, pulse the device as you watch the coil. The top coil will likely glow first, continue to pulse until all coils glow uniformly and from the center (this takes time, the better your build the shorter it will take).

Once your coil is good to go, fill with 2.25ml and slightly tilt to start the wicking, vape away.
