I believe I found myself 2 LM317Ts

Decided I'd open up an old bricked cable modem today as was hoping it ran on an ARM processor for hacking goodness turned out to be a crap Broadcom. Didn't find that but found 2 LM317T Voltage Regulators and a reset switch if that doesn't say "hack up a vv mod" I don't know what does. Any tips from the more hardware inclined?

P.S. This is not intended for long term use just a fun hack that might give me a few weeks of use.

LM317 is a linear regulator, not pulse. It means that LM317 will heat like hell if you use it for voltage adjustment. Also you will lose a lot of battery power. Also, as far as I remember, its max current is 1.5A, critical for e-vaping. I would not recommend to waste time for making such a VV.

White smoke and funny smells don't bother me particularly much. I have a lot of time on my hands and not much in the way of money.

Do a search here, I believe someone connected two 317s in parallel for a set-up that would handle up to 3A.

I can't understand much with electronics without schematics. I never did get to the point where I could design anything but I can analyze any circuit without much trouble.

I might just have to hit up Frys and see what they have for parts and what I can make from there. Still have to get some parts for this mod as well and they might just have exactly the voltage regulator I need. I just wish you could find ANYTHING on their website.
