I bought a Phoenix clone to try my hand on dripping

My first coil is 1.9 ohm using kanthal wire and silica wick. I put it on my MVP and got a decent vape. It was like more taste and less vapor. When in a carto it is great in all aspects. I'm new at this. Should I go all in and get a good rebuildable?? I love the DIY stuff. Thanks ECF.

That's awesome bro. Keep trying with the Phoenix, the atty is as good as the coil you make. If you make a crappy coil on a 200 rebuildable it'll still vape like crap.

I have a 4 dollar phoenix that I blow clouds on.

That was a free hand coil. I see other methods with screws and stuff.

All I do is freehand.

All I need is silica, wire, and toe nail clippers. I can rebuild the Phoenix, evod and protank heads in 5 min. You'll get it.

I had pretty much the same thing happen but it had insane throat hit too. I'm pretty sure it has to do with where the air hole is lined up and your coil. Its hard to tell where it lines up on the phoenix but it should be facing the coil if im not mistaken.
I'm about to pick up an aga t+ and try my hand at gennys!

There are some good rebuildables that won't break the bank. I use the Aga-T+ myself. I've seen the RSST getting good reports too and is apparently a not to difficult build.
If you get it set up right you should get lots of vapor as well as good taste. They are juice hogs though.

I honestly don't know what the best version is Eric. The biggest factor with them is how the coil is set up. I have been reading that the RSST is easier to work with. The AGA-T+ is a good genny RBA for sure.

And be able to do silica as well as mesh.

I moved the vent hole around a little and got a much better vape.

Seems like AGA-T2 and RSST are the best sub $30 options
