I broke my mini SX box.. New build inside.

Busted my mini box, so I decided to make one that is MVP size. Made a test version last week but accidentally melted the front face when my solvent syringe decided to give out and dump it all into the box.

This box took a 5+ foot drop onto a concrete floor. I didn't like how I hot glued it anyway.

New box will be Halloween themed.. I say that, but I thought of this color combo before Halloween.

Also going for a 16mm switch this time and moving the 510 to the rear.

Prototype door I'm working on, the next will look better now that i know this works! Snaps in place and magnets hold it to the battery.

great idea with the magnets. you know you cant get any simpler than what your building, but being able to see all the parts changes the image of it. I need to make me one, like the real small ones you started with.

I put a lot of effort into making these.... simple end result but these boxes take 6+ hours of build time. I put lots of thought and planning into the design of these to make them as durable and drop resistant as possible. The sides are designed to flex and absorb impact. This has been working this far but the design is far from perfect. Acrylic itself can only take so much abuse before it cracks or chips unfortunately..

Yah thats alot of measuring and fitting and placement gluing and tape, I can see it would be tedious. How do you layout the hardware, it almost looks like you drop it in fully assembled then glue the remaining panels? That I think would be hard.

I drop it in mostly assembled, then button up the last bits before finishing the case, as some parts have to be assembled and epoxied with the case at the same time. This one has to have the bottom assembled with the battery tray to reinforce the case and hold everything still.
