I was in class the other day taking a test. I passed it in to my professor and ran out because I needed to go to court for some stupid traffic ticket. As I was walking through the hall, I took out my e-cig without even thinking and took a long hard drag.

As I was blowing out the vape, I was greeted by shocked faces. I just shook my head in disappointment and walked out of the building.

It's funny what your body will do on auto pilot.

I once stopped by a bait shop to pick up a box of hooks and other miscellaneous stuff. While walking toward the register, chatting with the owner, looking the guy in the eye - I stuck the box of hooks in my pocket because my hands were full. I kept walking toward him, but was frozen inside thinking, "Do I casually pull them out and pay for them? What if he thinks I just got nervous and confessed and calls the cops? What do I do?". In the end, I went with casually pulling them out of my pocket and paying for them and all was well.

Hopefully your little slip-up is just going to result in a handful of people who wonder if they really saw what they thought they saw and dismissing the whole thing - of course, that's until they run into you at the grocery store and see you do it again :vapor:. At that point, it'll probably seem like a big joke to them.

LOL, I've done some funny things on auto pilot as well :p. When I use to smoke, I lit a few cigs without ever thinking about where I was and what I was doing before I stopped myself. When I started vaping, I really only vaped in places that it was ok to smoke. Now, if I frequent a place regularly, I breach the subject of vaping to the appropriate person and ask if it is ok. Now I have the manager's ok to vape at my favorite restaurants, bars, and best of all, work. I doubt you'll get the ok to vape in class (whiny teacher voice "it's a distraction to other people trying to learn"), but I'm not so sure your schools administration would keep you from vaping in the hall if you asked in the right way and gave them the appropriate info (and told asked them to please give you the ok so it will make it easier to quit killing yourself with cigs). Maybe it's time to ask before you auto vape coming out of your next mind numbing class room installment :)

lmao. that reminds me of one of my friends. I was at a pankcake breakfast at a highschool with my dad and one of my friends. After we were done eating he lit up a cigarette RIGHT IN A SCHOOL.

Me and my father just looked at him in astonishment. This was followed by him putting out his cig into a stack of pancakes, and him saying "oh !@#$". He felt like such an idiot.

I will never forget that.

i actually LOLed while reading this.

I also experienced something similar myself, while working as a baggage handler at the airport, i was waiting for a flight to board and was standing next to the nose gear of the plane. I lit a cigarette and while taking that first puff i realized where i was and stomped it out. my supervisor was laughing hysterically from within his truck.... unforgettable!
