Just a newbie here, first post. Three days ago I tried vaping with a stupid little starter kit from Eluma. One battery.

From my first puff, I knew I was hooked and I'd never smoke a real cig again. Until tonight. The battery was dead, so I figured I'd pull out my remaining pack of Marlboro lights (or whatever they call 'em these days). I went outside and lit one up.

1. Oops! I forgot my lighter.
2. I had to flick the ashes off.
3. The throat hit was about what I'd become used to from my e-cig, but not as much vapor smoke as I thought there'd be.
4. Damn thing got smaller and smaller and hotter and hotter.
5. I had to figure out how to dispose of the evidence, since I ditched my ashtray.
6. I felt a bit dizzy.
7. I probably stink.

After doing a whole lot of research, I ordered a whole bunch of new supplies today. Hopefully, I won't have to repeat this stupid exercise because of a dead battery.

Hi John, Welcome to the ECF. There are some of us who have fallen victim to this problem. There are some of us who have never again considered lighting an analog once they took their first vape. My last analog was days after I started vaping. A very close friend of mine vapes and still smokes on and off. Everyone is different. The fact that still remains is that every analog you havn't lit is a victory not the other way around. Hopefully one day you may look back at that one you "caved" as your last one. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Oh, and...

8. That Marlboro had no taste!

Whatever I've been vaping from Eluma was a lot more tasty. In three days, I acquired the habit of savoring the taste on my tongue as the vapor entered my mouth. Smoking a real cig didn't give me that. I realized that I just did it for the nicotine addiction, and it wasn't really pleasurable. It's a whole new ballgame, I think.

I'm really looking forward to checking out some of juices I've read about.

Hi John & Welcome! Lots of good support here & I want to mostly ditto what's already been said. I will add this: it took what it took to get where we are, and it'll take what it takes to get where we're going, so don't worry about it. Looks to me like you're right where you need to be right now - you've made the decision and for that, congratulations!

And keep on Vapin' first chance ya get! :vapor:

The battery, she is charged. Now everything is back to normal.

I can't believe I smoked those damn things for most of my life. This is SOOOOOOO much better in every way. I'm glad I figured out a solution to my addiction that's actually do-able.

I guess a dead battery is equivalent to realizing you just smoked your last analog and all the stores are closed.

Another cig-free day for me. Thanks for all of the encouragement. But, oddly, I don't think I need it. It's so easy.

My concern is that the tobacco lobbyists will be visiting our elected officials, and making big donations to their campaigns. Next thing you know, congressmen will be claiming that e-cigs are a health risk -- which gives them a good reason to have a huge tax attached.

In any case, I'm convinced that vaping is the world's first effective way to give up smoking. Execs at the big tobacco companies must be working late to figure out a way to stop us.
