Guess I need to order some batteries. One question: I have a couple of efest IMR 18650 2000 mAh (flat-top) batteries on hand, would those be OK to use until I can pick up some other batteries? I have no interest in doing any sub-ohm vaping at this time.

I see he recommends AW IMR batteries, so I'll pick some up soon, probably before my package arrives, but if not, will they be OK? Do I need button top batteries?

The hammertone looks way cooler in person than I expected it to from the photos. My jaw almost dropped when I looked at it in the light I think you'll love that combo

You don't need button tops. I run VTC5s in all mine with no issues. I've hard shorted one (don't ask ) and even with the longer length and therefore a more compressed spring, the battery still dropped and prevented thermal runaway.

The efest 2000mAh are rated at 10amps so if you are not sub ohm you will be ok. I would personally stay above .7ohm although they can technically go a little lower.

Welcome ElConquistador if you want the most from your mod buy some aw imr 18650s .The mechanical switch is built around the aw imr 1600 mah battery .
Use noalox or deoxit on your positive contact don't wait use it right out of the gate

Oh, and thanks for the picture. It was hard to tell from the smaller picture, but that looks awesome. Just ordered a couple of AW IMR batteries, so I should be all set. Really looking forward to next week now!

I hear ya. I'll gladly accept my portion of the blame . My old mom and stepdad have been blaming me for just over 2 months now for getting them REO setups that have kept them from their beloved cigs after smoking them for longer than I've been alive.

Yes, I think the silver hammertone / black wrinkle looks beast.

I hope you find the awesomeness in the REO experience that makes me caw

Amazingly enough, my new REO showed up today and my wife wasn't home to sign for it. This is a MAJOR tragedy! She selfishly elected to go to a doctor's appointment instead of staying home sitting by the mailbox all day, and I'm now contemplating a divorce.

Seriously, I was shocked it had already arrived, wasn't really expecting it until tomorrow. The good news is I figure my new AW batteries should arrive tomorrow too, so it'll be sort of like Christmas.
