Hi Seabrook. I ordered an Ego kit but with USB batteries instead of the normal ones. It comes with a 1.5 metre USB cable for charging or using as a "passthrough". I bought it from Ivapour in the UK. You can buy the batteries there, too - you don't have to buy a kit.

hey e-pipeman,
something funny -- on the Janty World USA site, they advertise it as a passthrough.

but on the Ivapour (UK) site, they advertise it as a USB battery. then on the last line of the product description, they mention that a 1.5m cord comes with it, yet they don't even touch on the word passthrough.:?:

Anyway, I'm going to put this to rest, as it is evident that when the battery expires, you just order another passthrough when in the USA, another USB battery when in the UK -- simple as that.

The reason I asked for help from ECF on this is because every time I eMailed Ethan at Janty (3 times), it always took him a full day to a day-and-a-half to get back to me. They either have the poor guy overworked, or he could be on vacation with only his laptop with him.

I think I understand what you are asking now. The Ego passthrough IS a battery, that's all it is. Well, plus the cord. Once an Ego PT will no longer charge, you will have to throw it out and buy a new one (or, if it is less than 3 months old, send it back to Janty for a replacement.) There are no replacement batteries for the passthrough, the passthrough IS the battery. Does that make more sense to you?

An Ego battery from Janty is $25, the Janty Ego USB PT is $30. The extra $5 is for the USB connection soldered onto the battery itself, there are no 'parts' for the PT. If I am confusing you, let me know, maybe I can figure out a better way to say it.

(Or if all you are asking is whether there will be a cut in price if you just want the PT without the USB cord, I don't have an answer for that. Probably not.)

Once again, you da man! That's exactly what I was asking. And IMO, the $30 passthrough is a great, great price. Hey, I used to go through a $10 pack of batteries in a month just playing my GameBoy during the one hour trip on the train to the city to go to work -- and I couldn't vape that, LOL. Thank you.:)

Thanks for the pic Scottbee. I had no idea! Guess a Super6 from SuperT engineering is in my future. Ordered a Janty USB eGO battery anyway.

Asked Janty support..
RE: USB eGO
How many charges is the internal battery good for?
When the battery no longer holds a charge can it be replaced?

Response was...
I have my designer checking with the factory regarding the number of charges that are expected from each battery. I will let you know as soon as I hear back. As far the battery not holding a charge any longer, we do warranty this battery for 3 months. So if it were to fail for some reason within 3 months of purchase, we will replace it.
