I didn't realize that I already loved 555... and other observations.

First: My first e-cig was a disposable "21st Century" cigarette I bought at a gas station just to try out. It was an auto and it took me a while to figure out how to get lots of vapor, but I mastered it by the time the thing died. I liked the flavor... it seemed familiar, but I couldn't pinpoint it... I still can't but I'm fairly certain that it is exactly the same as V4L's 555 (which I just got today). I love the 555. good stuff.

I'm bummed because the first 555 coolcart broke on me after 2 short (2 minute) vaping sessions. idk why it happened, or how I could figure it out, but it doesn't make that snapping sound a working cart does when I first hit the button.. and no vapor, no hit... nothing. I'll update if any of the other cartos I ordered fail on me.

V4L forgot to ship the carts that come with the PCC mini kit I ordered (manual). Does anyone know what size battery fits in those PCCs? I thought I got a short, and it fills up the whole thing, but I'm not certain.

Anyway.. V4L sent out the carts when I called them about it, but when I ordered a couple of days a go i still hadn't gotten them. I mentioned that in the comments of my order and they sent me another 5. THese guys clearly care about quality customer relationships... and that's good because it makes me feel like I bought my stuff from the right place. Sure, I found out after the fact that a PCC and equivalent 808D batteries are out there for half the price, and I assume some of them are exactly the same, just rebranded (esp the PCC, harder to tell with batts)

Final random thought - I think I want an auto. I want one that works with my PCC, and I think I'll be able to get better draws off of it than my manual... mostly I just want to stop having to unscrew my cart and screwing the one batt I have into the PCC to make sure I always have a charge.

OK - ONE MORE THING. I've smoked about 15 analogs since I got this kit a little over a week ago. Not bad at all when I was smoking about a pack a day before that. I got the 36 mg bc I figured why not? but I kind of enjoy vaping, so maybe I should cut it back to 24 mg so I can vape more and get the same nic content.:blink::laugh::laugh:

Welcome to the forum!

I think you'll get used to the manual battery very quickly. You really do get a better drag (you control the inhale) and you won't damage the batteries as easily as an automatic.

Some people definitely need the higher nicotine when they quit but quickly reduce their nicotine content. My Mom started with 36mg and it got her off the cigs but she very quickly reduced her nicotine. I think it was about 2 weeks and continues to reduce the amt of nicotine. I pretty much stay at 24 mg. But I'm not a constant vapor.

You can order 555 from them or from another vendor and fill your own cartos or top off the ones you have. You'll save a bit of money doing that.

Definitely pick up some extra batteries! V4L always has great sales and they're a good supplier to do business with. But many of the registered suppliers carry KR808 batteries. I even see them here a lot in the classified section.

So far none of the cartos have bunked out on me. I really think the coolcarts in general are a lot better than V4Ls other carts.. . But that might just be in my head.

More thoughts: I've read so much about different ways to fill cartos and watched some youtube videos about cleaning them out, etc. Seems like too many techniques for what should be a simple process. So far I've been doing two different things to refill carts... I drip in the battery end and pop off the top to top off... right now I'm topping off smilin carts with kamel menthol and some 555s with some cassablanca I got from backwoods. Backwoods has some vg in it, and idk that I like vg at all.. I definately feel like I can taste it in the two different liquids I got (menthol and cassablanca).

But with the refilling cartos thing: sometimes I use them right after topping off, but most people say to let them sit over night.... is there any benefit to that really?

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. No one can blame you for grabbing a couple of analogs.

For cleaning I've found the easiest way is the boil method, especially if you have several to clean. Basically the procedure is to pop off the top, put in a pot with water. Boil for 15 min or so. Drain, rinse, repeat. Just make sure you let them dry completely before filling.

For refilling, the two major ways are the comdom method and the drip method. I personally think the condom method is a little too messy for my taste. To use the drip method, take the cap off and hold it at an angle. Slowly drip the juice onto the side. You want to rotate every few drops to make sure it is evenly distributed. It should take about 18-20 drops.
I think letting it sit overnight is overkill. If i do let it sit, its usually only for 10-15 min.
