So, our 510 showed up today and, so far, so good... as far as the 510 goes. We ordered 24mg liquid and I felt it after the first hit. In fact, I couldn't vape more than one puff before I'd get woozy. Obviously, the 24mg is just too strong for me. I smoked about 10-15 Pall Mall's (blue 100's) a day, prior to this.

I bought some glycerin (CVS, USP stuff) and mixed that with some 22mg liquid. I didn't get the wooziness, but... I felt incredibly spacey and weird for a while. Eating something helped, but... my head is just kind of in the clouds.

So, too much nic or maybe an allergy?

Too much nic. If it were an allergy, you'd have allergy symptoms - swollen face/tongue/throat, itchiness, etc. Get some 0 nic juice and cut the stuff down and try again. If you get down to 50/50 (effectively 12mg nic) and you're still having the same problem after only one or two puffs, then there is something wrong.

how many cigarettes did you have before that--unless you are really hitting it you won't actually get up to analog levels (unless the juice is dripping in your mouth perhaps)
but it doesn't sound like an allergy--too much oxygen maybe :>

I had maybe... 4 before the 510 showed up. I took 3 hits of the 24 mg over the course of a few hours and then went to get some VG. That's when the weirdness started. I was just completely vacant and checked out for an hour or two.

Hi Solnishko -- welcome to ECF. I'm still new enough to vaping that I can reflect back to my first vape, and you're right. I felt a little lightheaded and spacey, but for only about the first few pulls. I don't know what it is. In fact, I forgot all about it until you mentioned it. From reading lots of posts I've learned that some people are a little sensitive to PG. Do you have a VG that you could try?

Sounds like too much nic not an allergy imo. Usually alergies make you feel really bad, but too much nic makes your head feel like its stuffed with wool or youre trippin' lol
If you get a headache or have to go to the bathroom more often, and in a hurry, its definitely too much nic (this also includes, but is not limited to: too strong nic, too much vaping in a short space of time and/or also smoking cigarettes as WELL as vaping)
Get some lower (or zero) nic juices for times when you think you might go crazy with vaping and you wont have to worry.

My wife and I actually experienced this exact same phenomenon with our first day vaping. However, I've not since had that same feeling even with a stronger nic level. The only thing that changed was that our first juice was all PG and since then we switched to varying percentages of VG mixed in.

But personally I think it was just a weird side-effect of initiating vaping and should pass in a day or 2. If it persists I would consider perhaps an allergy, but I'm no expert on what that's like.

EDIT:: I'm also no expert on this, but I believe our bodies are used to absorbing nicotine in a different way with the combustion of analog cigarettes and this may be one's body's way of reacting to a new way of absorbing the nicotine.

If you can remember wayy back for some of us... It's kind of like the "buzz" you got from smoking your very first stogie. You'll never get that same feeling again. Us humans are very adaptable creatures and putting your body through something you haven't experienced makes it go "whoa what the **** was that" and go a little crazy. Just give it time and you will adjust.:D

Of course I'm kind of brain dead right now and could be completely talking out of my ....

Anyways, hope you can figure it out and enjoy the benefits of vaping!

It reminded me of that awesome woozy feeling I got when I started smoking analogs. It passed within a few days, and since then I pretty much vape a hit or two every 10 minutes. ;) Keeps me really chill.

No worries yet, it should pass.

Ah, thank you. This is exactly what I was trying to say (minus my unnecessary babbling).

Okay, so I'm not totally crazy, LOL. Always good to hear. I don't really remember when I started smoking analogs, partially because it was half my life ago and partially because of some other interesting factors.

I'm vaping pretty steadily today and feel okay. A little spacey and slow, but nothing compared to yesterday. I'm also cutting WAY back on analogs. I've only had 1 today and don't really care to smoke them, unless a craving gets totally bad. I'll vape and then be fiending for a cigarette, even worse than I did before I used the PV, so I'm missing something in there. I'm took a dose of vitamins and I'm going to make a St. Johns Wort tonic and see if that helps.

I don't know know if its common, but everyone I have talked to has this happen. I have been wondering if its the rate in when its pulled in. I mean with cigarettes you take small puffs, with my electric cigarette I have noticed I tend to take longer drags, so it fills my lungs more. Of if its the fact then when (like other) I got my first eletric cigarette I puffed on that thing like there was no tomorrow (New toy).

But hell, the wooziness is real. Good luck on your vaping experience.
