I quit smoking several years back when I first discovered vaping, but I fell off the wagon when we had several deaths in the family and my husband was in a car accident. I know it was stupid. :( It's been several years since I've been smoking again and I've come back to buy vaping equipment and juice. But it seems like everything is different and more complicated and confusing.

I need to find something that is easy to use and reasonably priced as I'm not working because I have lupus, psoriatic arthritis and steroid-induced diabetes (my husband works so we're not destitute, but things have been very tight). The last thing I need to be doing is smoking right now with my health problems. :(

When I quit smoking last time, I used a GoGo and I loved it, but I can't find anyone selling them anymore. The GoGo cartos were great. It was like a big Ego. I also had a cheap 5v box mod from MadVapes that I really liked even though sometimes it fired by itself when it was out in the sun, but it vaped very nice. I had a bunch of other gear like cigalikes and egos, but the GoGo and box mod were my favorites.

The box mods and the tanks look confusing with sub-ohms and coil building. I'd like something that is easy to use, but has a nice hit. I'm not very good at building things and I have poor vision and my hands are shaky. I can't thread a needle anymore so I don't know if I could build coils.

Can you just use a regular carto on these box mods instead of a tank?

My favorite juice vendors appear to be gone now. I used to love Mrs. T's Bakery and the fruity, bakery and coffee flavors. I'm not sure who has good and reasonably-priced juices now.

Sorry for my long and rambling post. Any advice and recommendations would be very appreciated. Thank you for reading.

Welcome back to vaping :)

One of the older school gold standards IMO is the Nautilus mini. Coils last about 2 weeks depending on juice.

If you feel you might be up to re-wicking, the eGo One CLR are quite good, just started using them myself.

eGo ONE tank series – CLR coil

Take care

I can only speak to what I have used, but as a starter I loved my Joyetech Ego AOI using the 1.0 ohm coils. The cubis coils can be found in higher and lower resistance than 1.0. Easy peasy, 1 piece tank and internal battery with factory coils and a low price point as an entry level device. When I went to removable battery devices I found, and love, my eleaf Pico. I know the nautilus tank is a very popular pairing with that as a device that takes factory coils. The only downside is that if the FDA has their way things like factory coils may become unavailable, which is one reason rebuilding has become so very popular. Can't speak much for juice as I make my own - for the same FDA fearing reasons. Welcome back and good luck finding something that works for you!

Edit to add, if you go for something like an Ego AOI make sure to get 2 so one is always charged.

Welcome back, jeannest. many box mods nowadays. If the AIO is too hot a vape, the Nautilus suggested would be closer to an old GoGo carto.
Many ejuice companies now that are as good or better than Mrs T's. I'm sure someone duplicated her Snicker doodle recipes and other products for sure.
In short, better equipment and ejuice awaits... Have fun!

Yes, you can still use your carto's if they are 510 threaded or if you have an adapter from your coils to a 510 connection.

eta but not in an eGo AIO since it is one unit.

Also the eGo AIO also comes in a box mod form and its on sale.

You could USE cartos - but won't find them for sale anymore!
Ego AIO seems a good fit - OR there are a few different "pod" mods that might be worth trying.
These typically use disposable cartridges - SOME can be refilled, but they're really convenience oriented.

Look for the Juul, or the MyJet - some other folks can add more names to google...

You said the box mod you had was 5v. And you liked it. Going by that, the provari's are are variable up to 6v. (You set whatever voltage you like best) they are very very nice regulated devices that last forever. (Like seriously well made.) ( you can not mentions this in the open forum) paired with a nautilus mini, ( Aspire Nautilus Mini Clearomizer ) this should replicate the experience of your 5v. Box mod almost perfectly. It's a little more expensive, (as you need the batteries and charger also) but the provari will last unlike cheaper devices you have to replace annually. And the mini just takes drop in coils (you change the coil once every week or two), that are fairly inexpensive, that is going to be your only maintenance purchase, once you have your initial set up.

Thanks you so much for the advice! I went to look at Provari's and it said they closed to new regulations. Can you still buy a Provari? I really loved that little 5v box mod and I'd love to have a comparative vape.

You can still purchase them, but the pickings are slim right now as people were buying them up when provari announced they were stopping manufacturing.

Here is a website that still has a few left, I looked, and you can get the purple provari with the purple 18650 extension cap to match, or the cherry provari with the cherry 18650 extension cap to match, but the other colors you can't get a matching extension cap for.. here is the link: AUTHENTIC ProVari 2.5 Variable Voltage Mod the extention caps here (same site) ProVari 2.5 18650 Extension Cap you can then go to provari fuel to get the correct batteries plus battery charger for them Accessories (you need to get the right batteries - this is important!)

I'm right there with ya! Vaped for 3 years and then smoked for 3 years and now back to vaping. The changes are a learning curve.. Just wow. I have the innokin itaste MVP 3.0 from madvapes and the cool fire IV plus. The MVP is good for using ego style tanks. I have a nautilus x on the coolfire.
