I got my auto passthru today :)

ok so it took me a sec to realize I had to put my finger over the holes to get a hit on some of my carts other than that it is great.Do you all unplug these every time ?? my usb is on the back of my computer is why I ask I have one on the front but my fatherinlaw put a new one on that is in the back that i guess is better than the ones on front or do you think it matters what one I use obviously I dont know much about computers

mine broke but it was the the older version, did you get the one with the spiral cord or the straight cord? I used to unplug it after I was done using it but I used it attached to my xbox 360 which worked great for me

hm. i don't know that it matters if you leave it plugged in, but don't leave a carto on it.

maybe I am not getting this right I have tried the different USBs on the computer and printer and I always have to hold it just right (fingers covering the holes so theres no air)and suck on it for a few sec before it will even start sometimes if i let go it will stop other times it will keep going. This is the new model just got it today. i gave up and will try again tom i guess

Try putting a small ring of the end cap material on the area where the cart connects to the passthru and adjust it so that you have sufficient draw to activate without finger acrobatics. I am basing this suggestion off of the new larger hole batteries not the passthru though so please chime in anyone if this is not a good idea for the passthru.

From what I have read it would be a good idea to always unplug an auto passthru when you are leaving machine for a good period of time. New ones are too new to have any data the contradict the experiences with the older models.

try a different carto. not making connection.

edit. if its an auto, it could be that there not enough air to activate the switch, thats why you need to cover the holes. shoot a pm over to the guys, tell em you have a funky auto switch.

edit, edit. i just realized you specified everything in your OP, ya its time for bed. but ya just let the guys know and they'll take care of you.

I bought a USB extension cable for 4$ that lets me keep it where it's easy to disconnect.
