Yesterday my very first e-cig arrived. I got a Volt and it's absolutely fantastic! To be honest, I'm astounded. It gives me a great hit. The battery lasted all of yesterday and most of today. And it's super simple to use.

The most unbelievable thing is that one the very first day, both my husband and I have found ourselves turning to the Volt instead of cigarettes. I only smoked 7 real cigarettes today, and my hubby only smoked one! ONE! How awesome is that?

Congratulations to you and your husband!!!!!! Welcome to ECF!!! Isn't it amazing??????? After 2 days, I was down to 2 analogs and just put them down! It'll be a year next weekend! Am I excited? You bet! Am I thankful to God? You bet I am!!!! I just wish that my mom knew I quit last year.....I asked the Lord to tell her for me. She would be sooooo relieved.....my daddy too. Keep at it. If you do have a weak moment, you can try what I did......I told myself 'no more tobacco smoke in my lungs!' Then I would re-commit myself to the e-cig. Miracles still happen, and after 42 years of smoking, being off of 2 1/4 pks a day in 3 days is a miracle in my book!:)

Grats!!!

Yes - avoid the newbie horrors
- get plenty of appropriate juice for refilling cartos
- get spare cartos and batteries (and I recommend manual batteries - safer from being damaged/killed by juice leaks, easier to get a good hit)
- I recommend a charger cable for work and spare charger cables at home (I use a 4-part 2amp USB to AC - the Rosewill RUC6181 from NewEgg to hold 4 assorted battery charging cables or 3 cables and one hard short battery adapter in an end slot. That was you can charge 4 batteries or 3 and a PCC, etc with one socket)

I find it useful to have enough batteries that I can leave one set up overnight while charging my others. That way going to bed is easier and it's ready to vape when I wake up.

Just got mine the other day and it help me quit smoking too!! After 2 weeks without a single cigarette after 3 years of smoking 3 packs a week (and many, many cravings and nicotine fits), I was informed of these cool nicsticks they sold at our local tobacco store. Just a few puffs and I was HOOKED! It help with my cravings, nicotine fits, and the general habit of always wanting to have a cigarette in my hand to puff on. They're healthier and work just as well as cigs! I even sneak a few hits in the freezer at work whenever I get frustrated ;) we're not allowed to have smoke breaks there and those 11 hour shifts with no nicotine used to KILL me. No more rage fits for me :)

Congrats! I'm really happy you're doing so well.

Just so other newbies don't read this and get misinformed regarding batteries- the general rule of thumb is 100 mah - 1 hour constant vaping. So a 280 mah battery (new) is usually good for at least three hours of constant vaping. Just want to make sure people reading this get the appropriate amount of supplies when they start vaping.

One battery doesn't last the average person a whole day of vaping.

Yes, having extra supplies on hand is important. Unfortunately the store here was out of atomizers so I couldn't get an extra and mine bit the dust/burnt out today. Now my e-cig tastes like burnt vicks dipped bum, lol. I had to go buy a $1.36 bag of tobacco to get me through the night with rollies until the store is open tomorrow. Analogs taste DISGUSTING now...absolutely vile, lol...and only slightly better than the burnt vicks dipped bum. It's a sad state of affairs when you run out of supplies, lol.

When I bought the starter kit, I went ahead and bought 15 extra cartridges and one refill liquid. Now that I know what strength we need, I went ahead and bought 8 more bottles of liquid and 2 more batteries. I wasn't going to get the extra batteries but after watching my hubby stare at his battery the whole time it was charging, I changed my mind. lol

Next week..........ego

You're right! I already told my hubby that this was just temporary and that we would be upgrading to the e-Go as soon as we adjusted to vaping.

Just got my volt yesterday and havent had a cig since... I ended up using the volt all day yesterday and almost all day today before running out of liquid in my cart.. so Id say that cart lasted me well over a pack and a half... I do see needing a pcc very soon though, while I have not ran out of battery I ll be going to a business conference in a couple of weeks and will not be near an outlet so that pcc will come in handy.. BUT they are out of stock at the moment :(

I got my Volt on Thursday and man has it lived up to its billing!

I had 4 analogs the first night 'cause I didn't read the instructions on my pcc (think I got the last one before they ran out), and my second battery wasn't charged-up in time. Figured out to HOLD the button down for three seconds  and haven't had an analog since :)

I am really glad I found this forum before deciding what to buy. In the long run I will probably end up with a eGo or Riva 510 for home use, but also knew I needed no-fuss/no-muss analog look alike to get started. I smoke a lot in social situations and out in public, and this thing just plain works great!

I know the kr808d-1 isn't high on the list of preferred form factors for most experienced vapers, but I also watched a number of video reviews by veterans who were clearly impressed by the Volt in particular and highly recommended it to new users and non-tinkerers. Three days ago I was smoking a pack a day of analogs, and at the moment I can't imagine needing more vapor or throat hit than I get with this Volt from the first draw to the last - and I'm using an auto with the 65mm batteries. On day two I ordered a 78mm battery to have three total, a bunch of blanks, and some boba juice from alien visions, lol. Should keep me going for supplied for a while. The 510 will have to wait a month or two :)
