So I was doing a lot of filling of carts (getting ready for the work week) and I had a bit of nic juice on my hands. So after I topped off the last cart I subconsciously (read: stupidly) itched my eye with my nicotine fingers. I immediately realized what I did and it started to sting almost instantly so I flushed out my eye. But now it's been 2 days since the incident and my eye is still really red and a little irritated. Should I be worried or should i just ride it out? Any advice appreciated!

Could just be irritated from any residual nic floating around in your tears.

But, I don't mess around when it comes to my eyes (pretty important and you only get two). I'd go get it checked out. Two days sounds a little long to me.

I once got crazy glue in my eye, a drop flew up from squeezing the bottle. It dried in a glob on my eyeball, luckily not glueing my eye shut, but every blink scratched the inside of my eyelid. ER Doc scraped it off with a needle, had to wear an eyepatch for a week, all in all, not a fun time. But the moral is, the doc told me anytime ANYTHING gets in your eye, flush with 3 times as much water as you think you need, even from the toilet if need be.

Err. I would not disagree with the go to the doctor advice.

However if you are like me and hate doctors try using saline solution eye drops to wash your eye.

After two days I would be a bit to paranoid. The saline solution would have been more likely to work immediately after exposure.

You may have waited to long for the eye rinse. I know myself and would wait like a dumb ..... The best advice is to go to the doctor. Dumb sh!ts like me would use the eye wash.

I nic'd my eye once, but it was fine in about 5 minutes. No lingering effects from it.
I must've nic'd it harder ;). This is my 3rd day and my eye is even redder today:mad:. I'm gonna go see the doc after work I think. Luckily I just itched the corner of my eye and not the iris/pupil; so the redness is limited to the whites of my eye (now red of course). Thanks for your suggestions guys...guess eye drops while I work today then doc after .

OK that just sounds horrible! I'm now wearing safety goggles when I handle crazy glue thanks to you! Scraped it off with a needle...wow. I would have panicked hardcore :p.

Happened to me, too, while pressing the dropper back onto an overly full bottle. It burned like crazy, but I flushed with tap water for several minutes. The blurriness and tingly feeling went away after about 10 minutes and the redness was gone by morning.

I'm a baby when it comes to my eyes, so I was all set to go to the ER if the redness was still present the next morning.

The time for you to go is now. Don't mess with your vision!
