I hate o-rings OR why can't suppliers get an assortment from China and sell them?

I just got my second assortment of o-rings to try to fix my Davide, and I still don't have one that fits. The first assortment had rings that were all too big, this batch had the right diameter but they were too thick. I don't have any nearby hardware stores, and from what I've seen that wouldn't help anyhow for this size. (At least I now have a lifetime supply of o-rings for any other purposes that come up.)

I know, I could have replaced the Davide for what I've spent trying to fix it, but I hate to throw a perfectly good clearo away because I is missing one tiny piece of rubber or silicone. I probably will replace it now, but as much as I liked it, I will probably get something that doesn't have a tiny o-ring in a location where it falls off when you take it apart to clean

I've seen other people posting in the Where can I get a... thread looking for o-rings for other equipment. I'm assuming that some supplier should be able to get o-rings from China to fit this equipment (the ones I see appear to be thinner than the ones available for general plumbing, etc.) and offer them for sale. I would gladly pay an outrageous markup just to be able to get them to fit the equipment I have.

What I'm missing is the little o-ring at the top of the center stem. I figured I'd probably find it again someday, but the the house caught fire, and the remaining mess makes finding large objects difficult -- tiny ones are impossible. I'll have to check out getting a new one from Discount Vapers. There is no such thing as a "local" vape shop in rural North Dakota. The nearest ones are 70 miles from the new place, and we don't go that way more than a couple times a year. So I consider the internet my local vape shop.;)

I'm not familiar with the Davide design, but I lost a silicon o-ring from my mini Vivi-Nova down the drain while cleaning it under the faucet. I ended up wrapping the threads in a couple of layers of Teflon tape (plumber's tape). It worked like a charm. Lol, it actually doesn't leak AT ALL! Which is better than when it had the original silicon o-ring. Only thing is when I clean it, sometimes the tape is worn out to the point that I have to replace it again with fresh tape.

Savoir-Faire is everywhere!
Getting the correct thickness and size for O rings can be a HUGE pain in the ...., especially since there really aren't any standard sizes from one manufacturer to the next. Don't EVEN get me started on o rings for drip tips...lol

I have more o rings than anyone could ever need and most of them won't fit anything.....yet.

DUH! Why didn't I think of that?? I've been redoing the plumbing in the new house and using the tape pretty much every day, and I just didn't think of it. And I'm usually pretty good at seeing how something for one purpose can be put to use for another. Thanks.
