Only been vaping a couple of months now but I think im getting a little carried away. I've gone a little crazy stocking up on DIY stuff (will probably have just about every flavor there is before long) and I just ordered my first real toys. Right now i'm waiting on the short "DID" and an HH 357 custom atty and will probably order a RATank tomorrow. I have no idea how to use any of this stuff but im guessing I can figure it out. The only problem is theres still several cool rebuildables out there that I want and there all a little pricey except for the phoenix which seems like will be out of stock forever. I'm going to have to start working some serious overtime to cover my new purchases. Oh yeah, still have to figure out how to make some decent juice for myself too. Can't believe some of you wizzards out there can't crack some of these good juice recipes to pass on to people like me. Who's the best DIY juce maker around here and atty builder? I need 24 hour tech support...

i know what ya mean, when i started vaping i was excited about how much money i would save, turns out i just started spending that money on all the vaping gadgets and stuff. not cause i needed them just cause vaping has become an obsession haha.
you can always try premade flavors if you are uncomfortable mixing your own, just about everyone who mixes has their own special blend so really its just trial and effor. also juices can taste different after a while due to carts getting old and dirty and various other reasons.
if you are commited to mixing your own just keep at it and mark down your measurments everytime so when you do find what works for you you will remember it.

happy vaping

I've tried alot of juice from several different vendors. Really like most everything i've gotton from VR, really like boba's and theres a few that I want to try from NLV if they will ever let me in. Just want to be able make some decent ones for myself. Not sure how i'm going to handle staying away from all the cool gadgets out there. And to think that I use to think that the little disposable e-cigs in the gas station was the whole market for this vaping thing.

I remember about the first six months that I started vaping, I felt like a week could NOT go by without ordering some vape supplies. I was addicted to ordering juices to try from all over. After about six months I finally slowed way down and got into my niche of saving money. LOL. You will start to behave once the excitement eases, but once the vaping bug bites ya, you will never be the same again, that's for sure! It's like a hobby and I just can't get enough!

Haha, I totally get where you're coming from. I did it too in the beginning, everytime I ordered one thing, there was already something new I wanted by the time the "old" thing got delivered. I look at it this way, it kept me occupied, kept my mind off of smoking, and I learned so much! I've managed to settle down quite a bit now, pretty much know what I like, so when I buy something new, I'm sticking to pretty much what I know and like. I am actually starting to see somewhat of a savings now. Enjoy your new toys!

I was in this exact position in the beginning. Now I am at a little over 2 months and things are finally starting to slow down on the spending.

I think I now have a great set up that is working well for me. I started DIY on juice as well. I haven't been able to get my juice to taste as good as my local vendor, but it isn't terrible either. There is something missing that I haven't quite figured out yet.

Anyway, welcome to the wonderful world of vaping!

ROFL...welcome. You are most definatly not alone. Regarding DIY..it really helps to be systematic. Start with single flavor juices...at different percentages. Learn how they taste...and remember to "steep". When I first got a shipments of flavors and I went nuts mixing what I "thought" should go together. I managed to make some awful stuff. After I started to calm down....and take notes...I got better. The DIY e-juice forum here is wonderful resource! Grats on the change from stinkies and welcome to a new wonderful hobby!

I've got the bug too... It started with how long would a little bit bigger battery last me? I wonder if I would prefer manual batteries too? Is Variable voltage really all that?

Then delivery, Are those cartos better than what I've got? How about those? Would a top coil be better? Do those things you inject with juice really not leak at all? (they really don't!)

Now I'm wondering If I could save a little money with DIY Juices...

I feel like I just took the 1st step of a 12 step program. Hi, I'm SolemnPenguin; and I'm a vaper.

Here are some notes that i've taken from the DIY section that I want to try, just need to get me a few more flavors. These are just random posts by other members here.
--------------------------------------------------------
TW patriot Tobacco Americano = Halo Torque56
TW patriot M/Borough = Halo Freedom
TW patriot Kamel = Smooth8
----------------------------------------------------
kentucky clone in ejuicemeup calc
TPA Hazelnut 3%
TPA Marshmallow 5%
TPA Caramel 3%
TPA Dk Tobacco 3%

I have posted this I do not know how many times, but this is the same recipe I have been using since 2010:
TA (Tobacco Absolute), and EM (Ethyl Maltol) is a great base. It allows to to add pretty much any other flavor to it. This is my tobbaco base concoction. Unfortunatly the seedmans darkens it up alittle, but it is fairly clear at 10%.
You will need the following:
Perfumers Apprentice - Cotton Candy 2 x 1oz
TOB506 Commercial Cigarette Concentrate 4 x 1/2oz
Perfumers Apprentice - Tobacco Absolute (1. Pure) 1 x 2.5ml
Now, the cotton candy from perfumer apprentice is ethyl maltol suspended in PG @ 10%, warm the cotton candy and the 2.5ml of TA (tobacco absolute) in a sink of HOT water.
Get a 4oz bottle to add everything into, uncap the cotton candy and pour it all into the 4oz bottle, then uncap the TA, it will not be thick now as the hot bath has made it thinner. Use a pipette (note the TA will stain the pipette so use this pipette only for TA) and put .3ml of TA into the cotton candy (About 6 drops). Now cap the cotton candy and shake until it is mixed. Now add the seedmans concentrate to the cotton candy and shake until mixed.
The result is a approx 120ml of tobacco base that is very satisfying IMO @ 10%, and you can add hazelnut or peanut flavor to your mix to give it a nutty flavor. Add vanilla, black cherry, or caramel to give it those notes.
When adding menthol us it at 3% to the 7% tobacco base. In Dan's recipe? All 4 1/2 oz bottles (2oz in total).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I find this one a pretty good base:

8.75 ml base
.5ml dk tobacco
.5ml tpa caramel
.25ml fa nut mixThis one is silly simple but it's amazing
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 drops TA
2 drops FA Virginia
1 drop FA oak wood
5ml total

Marlboro Reds!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7 oaks by lapino89:
at 5 ml base
7 Leaves Ultimate - 12 drops
oak wood - 5 drops
A read somewhere and can't find it now. But I believe the TPA Tobacco Blend is Dan's recipe without the seedmans. Before I'd read this, I had tried the tpa TB by itself at 10%. Love it!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tried a couple bottles with TB at 8% and bitter wizard at 2-4%. Good stuff!
I learned this from a friend: Fill 1/2 of a 30 ml bottle of ground coffee. I used Cuban coffee because it's really strong.. Then top it off with PG and microwave for 10 seconds. (no longer). The Pg will absorb the coffee. Then top off again with pg, then place bottle in a hot water bath for 20 minutes. Strain mixture with a coffee filter. I used a funnel, and cut the filter to fit.

I used 3% coffee, 1% Bavarian Cream and 1% Caramel and It was the best Coffee liquid I ever had. Here is her post... the caramel cappaccino from PA is $1.40.. you will NEVER have to buy another bottle! One site, they warn you that this flavor is very very strong and they mean it LOL.. I used just one tiny drop in a 7ml bottle.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I made this last nite and I think I'm in Love, LOL. Thanks Salemgold and Donnah ..
This is what I made
10 ml @ 12 mg nic 75/25 pg/vg. I then added 1 drop of caramel cappuccino from PA and 5 drops of vanilla swirl from PA. It is sooo good.. I can't speak for anyone else, but for me I am discovering that less is more. This is pretty close to what I used to buy from Vermillion River ~ caramelized cappuccino but so much better. Because it is still clear it will be much easier on my ce2's and carto tanks than the store bought is.. I am a very happy camper/diyer

Rlafontaine, to make it as easy on you as possible until you get used to DIY, I would download the ejuicemeup calculator. It's very easy to use and you can watch several videos on Youtube to see how to work it. Then stick to trying to make a juice with one flavor only in it. Make about 3 ml at 10% flavor until you see if you prefer more or less flavor in it. At first I got like Strawberry and Banana, that way I could make just strawberry, just banana, and a third flavor of both. Once you dabble with it, you will see how easy it is and be better at experimenting with more flavors and percentages :)
