I don't think I could ever go back to smoking now! Even if ecigs were (God forbid) banned, I don't think I would turn back to cigarettes. I don't like anything about them, how they taste, how they smell, how people who smoke them smell, how messy it is with butts and ashes everywhere - nothing. At Thanksgiving we were at the River with my family and lots of their friends are still smoking. We were all drinking and out of curiosity I took a few hits off my old brand (Marlboro lights) and it was AWFUL! I honestly don't know how I could have smoked those for so long! Nothing about it was satisfying to me it was just plain horrible! I happily went back to my Vapor King XL with a cappuccino carto and puffed away contentedly.

What a great feeling!!!! Thanks V4L! :vapor:

If it were banned tomorrow..I have supplies for a while. I can DIY juice and I have mods that use plain old protected batteries.
But to tell the truth, I think rather then hang on my by teeth, I am far enough along that I could just quit vaping and still not smoke. Juicy Fruit gum is fine by me.
Thank you V4L for getting me to this point!

Me too Mary Kay! If it were banned tomorrow I probably have enough supplies to get me through a year, maybe longer. (I know, I know - I am crazy lol) When I was down by half my supplies, I would probably start weaning myself off it, maybe just allowing myself to vape for a bit at night - so could probably go a year and a half or more total.

I don't think that will ever happen, thankfully, but it is a good feeling to know that I am at the point where I would be able to give it up altogether if smoking were the only option! So yeah - huge thanks to V4L!

I guess I'm the oddball. I started e-cigs in April '09. I stopped analogs and was 100% e-cig in November '09. Quit everything altogether in April '10. In September '10, for reasons of stupidity, I picked the analogs back up. I had a stash of e-cig gear in my closet, but never even thought about it. My wife asked me a couple weeks ago what happened to my "puffers", and I told her I don't know why I didn't get that stuff out. Anyway, I got my "puffers" out, cracked open a sealed bottle of liquid, filled up a new cart, charged my batteries, and tried it out. All I can say is.... I AM OFFICIALLY A DUMMY. Why I went back to the analogs instead of the e-cig, I don't know. I do know that I forgot how much I enjoy my e-cig. And, wow, I missed a bunch around here. Now if V4L would just get some Grape liquid back in stock..... :p

Funny part is, now 2 of my co-workers are now begging me to borrow my e-cig gear. These are 2 guys that ridiculed me for using it before. So, I ordered them the cartos of their choice and am hoping to have them off the analogs now too.

Glad you are back! To be honest, after vaping about 6 months I would most likely have gone back to cigs if my ecigs disappeared. I wouldn't have wanted to, but I know in my heart I would have. Now, after vaping exclusively for 1 year and 3 months, I don't think anything would induce me to go back to cigs. I don't plan on quiting vaping, but if I ever do I am hanging on to my vaping supplies just in case! lol

I started thinking about my "weaknesses" Not the cute guys, Jim Beam or chocolate! I mean what triggers my vaping need. The time at the computer where I am mindlessly clicking on this or that, in the car where I swear everyone else is mindless and when I get too tired or angry. If I am doing something like cooking, working in the yard, hanging with my grandsons or non-smoking friends..I forget all about it!

When I am around people smoking, like my friends, son or hubby and it's in my face (especially in the car or at the table)..I do grab an e-cig. Not because I am tempted but to combat the smell! Also to gently remind them that I GAVE them E-cigs..use the darn things!

It takes time to get there! Trust me! :) And we are all different, some people may never reach that point which is why it is so important to be proactive and make sure we are doing everything we can to keep ecigs available. Sign petitions, write our representatives etc... I also think it is important not to push buttons that give people an excuse to lump us in the same mold as smokers.

Jen, I can't agree more! I would like to see more people saying it NOT the nicotine stupid! It's the 3,999 other things in cigs that will kill you! I am always defending the nic as the least of my worries..besides if they just ate some salsa..they just ate nic!
I think that if you choose to vape instead of smoke..with no thought of giving up vaping..great! If you can quit both..even better. But you need to have some time vaping under your belt..it's not going to happen overnight.
Just hang out here with us..we will help you.

Like I said Joyce - EVERYONE is different! If each cig is tasting nastier then the last, it sounds like you are moving closer to giving up the smokes every day! And truth be told, even if you vape and still smoke 3 or 4 cigs a day for the rest of your life, you are still better off because that is a pack plus of cigs a day that you are NOT smoking! Celebrate the positive and don't beat yourself up over slip ups!

And yes, you DO belong in this thread! We are all in this together... :)

Joyce! Don't be silly! We were all where you are at one point or another..some old timers still are. Hang in there and bit by bit you will see..vaping will become better tasting then cigs and you will depend on them less and less.
A trick I used was to put the cigs in a different room, and then go outside, something I never did before. make it too much trouble to go have one! Of couse with this weather..nevermind..lol

After smoking for 27 years then quitting with ecig for now 50 days I doubt I would go back to cigs. I have been around situations that would allow me to grab a cig but I don't have the urge at all. If ecigs were banned, I would also have enough to wean off if needed...cigs just doesn't cut it for me anymore! This is it for me :)
