I really enjoy reading through this forum and I wanted to stop by and say hello.

I'm new to this so I feel a little out of place. You guys are like professionals in this field and I've only spent a few hours reading about it.

A little background....
Recently I decided to buy an e-cigarette because...well...there were many reasons. Mostly because I'm a health freak and I work out all the time. People think it's kind of hypocritical for me to smoke cigarettes(I also felt this way). I'm also in nursing school. If you haven't heard about health care and cigarettes yet, I suggest you google it. They are really cracking down on smokers. Some places won't even hire them, and my school won't let you smoke on the hospital property(which is several city blocks), so it's kind of difficult to smoke when you need to.

So I went to some convenient store and saw an e-cigarette there for only 10 dollars. I thought it was pretty cheap and it said that it had like 500 cigarettes worth of vapor, so I thought that was pretty cool. I tried it out and it basically sputtered this nasty tasting liquid into my mouth and there wasn't even any vapor. I thought that maybe it was like that for the first few puffs, so I kept going at it and I started getting sick from the nasty liquid that was spraying into my mouth. That was a horrible experience, lol.

I looked all over the package and couldn't even find a brand name on it. I was seriously gonna tell the manufacturer about this horrible e-cigarette that I just had. Instead I started googling and came across this forum, and then I learned about how to find a real one.

I ended up ordering an eGo-T with tobacco and grape flavored liquid. I'm still a noob at all of this stuff, and I'm even a little shocked that this is more of a hobby thing. I can't wait till it comes in the mail, and I hope that I will also enjoy the different brands and modding that you all so enthusiastically write about.

Thank you guys for making such a great forum

Anthony

i agree... i am finding there are quite a few people who have turned this into a hobby.... creating/finding the best e-cig or mod, making the perfect ejuice, etc. it's not my goal to become that much of a vaper conisuer but never know...i enjoy it so far and i know my hubby is irritated with how fascinated i am by all of this haha... best of luck on your switch :D

Hey Anthony, glad to hear you decided to quit smoking. When you get your equipment, give some feedback. And go to unsmoke.us and get some of the cinnamon roll juice. It sounds strange, but they sent me a free sample with some stuff I bought, and it is the most amazing thing to inhale. It's heaven, and sooo not like a ton of burnt particles coating your tongue and throat...

wow, thanks for all of the quick responses.

Like I said, I'm a noob at all of this stuff. I've already made my first noob mistake, and I am sure there are more to come as I learn more about this. I spent several hours looking at different brands before I decided to go with the eGo-T. However, I had trouble trying to find a decent seller. There certainly are a lot of sellers, but their websites look like they were made in 5 minutes and I was worried about scams. I was a little frustrated, so I just went with the first website that I thought looked somewhat professional. That was Greenhouse One, but it's in a different country(China I think), so it will take about 2 weeks to get here.

Once I get the e-cig and I'm comfortable with it, and hopefully I will have had plenty of time to research it a little more, I will have a good list of vendors and their products. I'll check out the websites that you guys mentioned in this thread. I've also read a lot of good things about cignot.com so I'll look into that too.

So do you guys have any noob suggestions for me? I've been wondering about the cartridge things(not sure what you guys call them), what you put the liquid into. I saw a youtube video that suggested that they are refillable, but the guy also said that after you use it once, you get some liquid drainage from it. Should I order some more? Another thing I have been curious about is how long does the liquid last. Does it go stale? I bought 30mL bottles and I was worried that if I went with the 50mL, that it will go bad or something. I'll order the bigger quantity if it doesn't go bad.

Welcome and congratulations, Anthony!! It looks like you may have a couple of weeks until your new eGo Tank arrives. So, my advice would be to prepare yourself and research during that time. They usually put a shelf life of 2 yrs on liquid *if it is stored in a cool, dark place*.

What flavor, nicotine level...liquid did your order? How much did you smoke?

The amount of liquid you will go through depends a lot on (1) How much you are vaping. (2) How much leakage/trial and error you go through. When you first start out, it can be hard to find the right nicotine levels, flavors, pg/vg ratio, etc... It's best to find a supplier with decent prices and try a lot of different samples (3-5ml).

I've only used the Tank a few times, but it's a great starter kit. Again, welcome and happy vaping:)

BTW what's next? Pics of obese persons on packages of jelly donuts?
Don't laugh -- you know it is coming! Good thing it was easier for me to give up carbs than nicotine. The problem with smoking bans by employers though is that some of them test for it, and vaping has nicotine. How do you tell the difference between smoking and vaping with that kind of test? Thankfully I don't have to deal with that question.
