Long story short, I had to go to hospital today for a minor procedure.
Whilst there, I thought I'd "try my luck", and pulled out my trusty SB when the nurse came in to take my blood pressure, a toked a couple of vapes.
Her eyes bulged and then "what the heck is that????".
So I explained to her what it was and how it worked, and she said she was a smoker and had never heard of electronic smoking/vaping devices.
Next the consultant doing the procedure came in, and the same thing happened
(the only positive side effect of my former smoking was, that it placated my current condition, and since stopping, it has "inflamed" it a bit)
The consultant was very cool about the whole thing as well. No problems.
Finally, in the recovery room 30 minutes later, out comes my SB.
A look of horror comes across 6 nurses faces!
One of the male nurses walkes over to ask what I am doing....8-o
A simple explanation and demo later, and one bunch of happy nurses also totally cool with me vaping in the hospital.
OK, so IF anyone of them weren't happy with my vaping I would have stopped, but since I like to think that in such an environment I am dealing with intelligent people who possess a modicom of common sense, I'll do whatever is acceptable - which includes vaping.
Whilst also imparting a little education of my own!
So, I am happy to report that my experience of vaping in the Royal Free Hospital in London was totally cool.
Education isn't just at school, it is a life long process.
Happy Vaping!
