Go throw up somewhere else. No need to bring down everyone and make them feel bad for spending their money. You have no right to say anything.

So he has to pay in to the government (like me) and has no right to say anything?!?! We have the right to freedom of speech. We do NOT have the right to never be offended. The two are mutually exclusive. If what he said offended you, sorry, but he has just as much right to his opinion as you do.

Oh and yes, writing a check to the IRS every year when they have already taken thousands out of my paychecks all year long does make me want to throw up too.

EDIT: I will add that threads like these only serve to remind those of us that have to pay in about what is probably one of the worst experiences we have to go through each year. Yet I will also defend the right of these threads to exist.

Paying into taxes means one of 2 things. You either did way too much overtime, kicking you into the higher tax bracket, or you get paid too much for your family size. When you earn more than the limit for your household, you get bumped up. 9 times out of 10, you didn't put in enough taxes in the higher bracket. So being bumped up, and not fulfilling the required amount for that bracket means you owe more. That has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of us who got paid menial wages to stay inside the lowest tier.

Getting a refund back, means you don't make enough during the year for your family size. Take me for example, I have a family of 4. In our tax bracket we can collectively make up to X amount (don't remember off hand) without being bumped up. I make 27,000 a year and my wife makes 30,000. We're under the "poverty' line for our family size. So we're required to pay less in taxes. They take far more during the year than they should, which gives us a refund. With the same salary, and only a family of 2, we would be bumped up to the next bracket, and have to pay into it at tax time.

The point is this: Just because something happens to you, does not mean everyone else should feel bad because it didn't happen to them. It has nothing to do with "being offended" and everything to do with being upset with your own situation and not taking it out on everyone else.

Getting a refund, is the government's way of saying "sorry you're poor". I would absolutely love a high enough salary to end up paying into taxes. And you can disagree with me all you want. It would mean more money throughout the year, and less living paycheck to paycheck hoping I have enough for bills.

lucky you. enjoy spending my money fellas....it's all good

thread like these make me wanna throw up

Are you bulimic? How is anyone spending your money? They are getting money back that they overpaid as a result of THEIR hard work, they aren't taking any from you.

Getting a refund, is the government's way of saying "sorry you're poor".

Actually, getting a refund is the governments way of giving you back money you over paid for your income bracket. It has nothing to do with being rich or poor. Generally the rich have better financial/tax managers to limit the amount they pay in so they avoid getting a refund because getting a refund means you basically loaned the government your money interest free.

First it really has nothing to do with being over or under paid. It has nothing to do making a lot or little money. It has to do with the amount of withholding you have set up on your W4 forms. A rich person can get a refund and a poor person can have to pay in. All depending on how they setup their withholding. Yes it can be changed.

Second, just because I am not having them withhold "enough" doesn't make writing that check feel any better. Really I feel raped by the IRS every year.

Third, no one said you should feel bad for spending money. He simply said threads reminding him of having to pay in makes him sick. I can relate.

Finally, I will repeat myself to say he had just as much right to say what he wants, as you have to say what you want to buy with your refund. You have no right to try and take away his right. Saying he has "no right to say anything" is utterly wrong.

When you get bumped up to the next bracket by an increase in salary, whether it's overtime, raise, or other salary increase, whatever you're witholding will never be enough because of the requirement range in each bracket. The range is too large. (unless you get bumped up in the early part of the year, when you might have enough time to increase how much is taken)

I never said you had to feel great about writing a check at tax time. You can be as upset with your situation as you want (kind of my entire point I've been making since posting ). You're a great example of what I'm saying. You're mad at your personal situation, and you're not posting anything negative towards the thread or the people in it. The original person I replied to did, however.

Actually, his post was aimed at the people in this thread. Not his situation. So yes, he did intend for people to feel bad because not everyone gets a refund. He specifically said "threads like this make me want to throw up". Again, aimed at the thread itself. Had he said "Paying the government during tax time makes me want to throw up", he would not have had a response from me, and this arguement would never have been started.

While I do agree he has the right to say anything, so do I. So I guess what I should have said was "There is no purpose, or benefit, in saying what you did". I guess I should have rephrased my sentence a bit, just like he should have phrased his entire post differently (if he indeed is trying to imply what you think he is).

ScottP - You make me feel guilty for posting this....

I got everything in this picture but the black MVP2 that I already had, plus a bunch of rebuilding stuff, a Squape Clone, Juice and I'm still waiting on a Launcher, Itaste VV V3 and another Kayfun clone from fasttech.

ScottP, can I just say I absolutely love "Vaper's Toolbox" and use it constantly! It is hands down the best vaping app! I plug it almost every time I comment on a building thread. Thank you for taking the time and putting in the effort to make such a valuable asset to my vaping arsenal!!

Actually many americans get money back because they do it wrong to begin with. You have basically over paid and you have given the government an interest free loan every paycheck. they give you pennies back on a refund of what the actual value the money is worth. Plus you also probably get help because you have children yadda yadda. Being rich or poor really means NOTHING I make less then you and your wife together actually less then you make...actually I cannot work....but it's 2 of use and we STILL had to pay this year....not 5k but the government is throwing my money away on socialized programs this country should not be funding and I am ...... I have to pay. BUT I did get refunds for a lot of years while my children were at home/school.

Congrats on the new gear. It was never my intention to make anyone feel guilty about getting a refund. Which just as it sounds is a refund of money you already earned and sent to the government, but overpaid. It's your money, you earned it. I was really only commenting about one person telling another person they didn't have the right to say anything. I always stand up for freedoms...just the way I am. It's also why I fight for vaping rights.

I am glad you and so many others are getting use out of that app. I love getting feedback about it, positive or negative. Enjoy and vapor on.

Unfortunately, THIS taxpaying American voter is paying a couple grand to good ol' Uncle Sammy this year.

I don't actually mind all that much but it would be nice to know it was being spent on useful things.

i got your back, honey. i'll make use of every single dollar you paid... and scotts money... and certus... and kjathena... and probably more.

WE GOT PAID!!!! this year at tax time. i'm happy to take the blame for everyone's losses so far. don't worry. i'm spending it wisely and putting it to good use. 4 more happy vapers quit so far thanks to your contributions. their health is more valuable than what you guys contributed to it, so thank you all.
