You should research how to rebuild the protank coils. Its very easy and cheap. You can get a 100ft spool of Kanthal A-1 for under $10, which will last you forever and get some organic cotton balls for the wick which should last you over a year. It is very easy to change favors, just simply rinse and re-wick with some fresh cotton and you are good to go.

You will get better flavor and performance than the stock coils.

I have a couple of questions:

1) What are the ohms of the coils you're using?

2) What voltage/wattage are you vaping at?

Thicker juices will take longer to wick and darker juices will gunk up your coils faster. I've been using Kanger EVODS and now Kanger Aeroflow tank and the fastest a coil gunks up is 1 week, with clear liquids I can vape them for sometimes 4 to 5 weeks. I only use low resistance coils (1.8 ohms) and will vape at no more than 4 volts on my Provari. Anything higher than that will burn the liquid and I have to dry burn to clean them up.

In the more than 2 years I've been vaping, I've tried many cartos, clearos, etc. I love the Kanger products because they've been most consistent. I call them "fill and vape" without having to fudge around with them.

I've been a kayfun user for months, But recently I wanted something smaller for the summer and have been using a home made kanger combo the last couple weeks.

Protank 3, Original Aerotank Base (You can buy them separately), The new 1.5ohm dual coils (That came out with the new Aerotanks). I suppose the same thing could be achieved by just buying one of the new Aerotanks, but I have the same thing by using some older parts without having to put the dollars for a whole brand new one.

I will have to agree with this. When you rebuild your own coils, you can regulate the flow yourself. Depending on how much cotton/silica you use, less dense cotton/smaller silica will mean you get greater flow, the thicker the silica/denser the cotton, the less flow you'll get. Remember, with a stock coil, they try for the "works with all juices", which may not be the BEST solution for your juices. The only way to figure it out is by trial and error. I've used CE5's and mini protank coils for over a year, and I've only bought five of each. Once you've done it a few times, it becomes incredibly easy, and you can rewick a coil in about 2 minutes. It's not about saving money either, it's about customizing the coil to your taste. I've settled on 1.6 ohm cotton on my protank... tastes great, and very little gurgling.

If you want to keep using the protank coils, try taking both those little wicks off that sit on top of the coil. They call them flavor wicks but they might as well be kindling for how fast they burn. Take those out and it will not only burn less, but wick better with VG eliquid. Someone has probably already said this but its just the best thing you can do for those coils without just rebuilding them.

Using straight vg juice I would at least try to rewick the coil head. I recently completed my first successful rebuild on a kanger dual coil head, wicking is everything. LESS IS MORE! The wicks I put in this build seemed like there was no way it would keep the coil from flooding, and I use 50/50 juice. I'm getting a great vape out of this clearo.
