Hello all. I've been smoking for about 15+ years and recently started vaping. I finally got in the mail today my very first set-up: 1000mah ego-T battery, LR type A atty, cartridges, and a bottle of organic menthol juice from Vaperite. I decided against a starter kit since my friend highly recommended this set-up, and he knows that I'm not gonna just get a cheap starter kit that'll break down. Explaining the $60 to my wife however was a different story.

Just a quick question though: realistically what's the life on a battery and atomizer? Weeks, months, years? I know that it all depends on the user and how well they maintain it and all, but what's the average life on those parts?

Any thoughts on the mega ego-t atty?

Thanks!!

I'm assuming that you only bought one of each, based on your statement...so...

Most of the reason that people say to get a kit is for the simple fact that these are electronic devices. They will, for no reason but that they feel like it, just stop working one day. Whether it's a loose connection on the inside somewhere, the battery is worn out, or it slipped out of your pocket and into the toilet... it still happens. A kit typically has 2 of everything (and usually more tanks, if you were to grab a tank kit) which comes in handy on the "Oh crap, I forgot to charge it last night...and I'm in the middle of work with no vapor." moment also. The last thing a vaper wants to do is reach for an analog because their piece broke/died.

I've got 2 650mAh eGo batteries, and 1 1000mAh battery. All are still working fine, almost 3 months of heavy use now. The tank atties have needed cleaning quite a few times, but that's to be expected...haven't had one of them die on me yet either, but I rotate them quite a bit.

Welcome to the forum!
Best of luck!

i use my 510T since apr and i rotate all my 3 units..so far the batteries still function well..but need charging more frequently..so the decay in batteries lives down to 1/2 life after 5 months usage..as for the atomizers..even with (initially 2-3 weeks/weekly)maintenance my atomizers since function but less effective..eventually need to be replaced..so when U re-order spares..make sure U order the right ones..tank atty with tank cartridges..yrs presently is LR atty & foam cartridge, type A..like all of us..we get our 2nd kits ready be4 our 1st faded away..just for assurance..i have already acquired my 2nd kit(EGO-T tank)..& enough e-liquids for months..regards mafig

Yeah, extra batteries are a must! I lost three ego style batteries in a month, the last two in a couple of days apart. The first one, the switch/button died, the second one I managed to somehow plop into a 6" cat water bowl from across the kitchen when I knocked it off the counter (couldn't do that again in a million years) and the third I just plain lost. So you never know when disaster will strike.

I've got so close to spilling water, beer, soda and even dropping my Riva in the toilet once. I've NEVER heard of anyone submerging a BAT into 6" of a cat's water bowl though! LMAO. Sounds like we have a contestant for the E-Cig olympics:laugh: I cracked up when I read this. My cat would probably give me the look of death if I did that.

Welcome!!
And just repeating advice: get backups. Get backups for your backups. :)
Thanks. It's only been a week, but I'm already looking to get backups because I will most likely need them down the line. I like the performance of my eGo-T so I'll probably get some variation of what I already have. I plan to order a smaller 650mah battery and a Mega atty and create some different combinations.

Don't forget lots of extra juice too!

Welcome!

Thanks!! I'm already planning my 2nd order of juice. My friend got me started with vaping with his eGo loaded with Vaperite's organic Kona Cream. Since my menthol juice is now done steeping (I can totally tell the difference in smell. Or maybe my nose has cleared up LOL) I've decided I need to order another bottle to add to my parts order.

Everybody is so helpful and supportive here. Thanks.

Yeah, I'll be buying extras soon. I seriously almost dropped my piece into the bowl when I was in the crapper at work.

I've been doing a lot of price comparisons with all of the website recommendations that people had on here, but I found Vaperite to have really competitive prices. Plus since I'm liking his organic juices, a slight price difference wouldn't make me not shop from there. $76 (+10% off coupon) for 2 eGo-T's w/1000 mah batteries: Joye eGo T 1000mAh Kit
