Five Paws has turned me into a junkie! I can't stop vaping Castle Long (the mixology edition-I've tried the reserve, and it's amazing, but impossible to get, so I'm not even letting that one into my brain!). Alas, it is an expensive juice... far too expensive for me to continue vaping all day, as I have been for months.

I'm reaching out to you all to ask if anybody has encountered anything similar in flavor that might be a bit more pocket friendly... I need help! I think as far as juices go, this one may be the best. However, if there is anything similar (even remotely!) that might be a bit more within my budget, I'd love to know. Suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

My personal choice thats very similar is goodlifevapor High Five. I have heard good things about Steam Co Gentlemen's Reserve - but I love High Five and the GR is more pricey - so I havent sampled it yet. But probably 2 good starting points :) High Five doesnt list coconut in their description - I was surprised to taste in the first time I tried it :)

Mazinny I think you're thinking of the Castle Long Reserve..not the regular Castle long. The 5P reserve you're right..37.50 a 30 mL WHEN you can find it. The regular, non reserve version is 27.50. GR is still cheaper though. Unfortunately, with what I've been hearing lately about the inconsistent quality of the GR from the Steam Co. I'm a little leery of buying it again :(

i had already ordered three bottles of GR before reading the complaints about the new batch, so i was a little worried needless to say. let them steep for a good while before trying, since i already had some of the old batch. anyway, tried a kfl tank of the new batch yesterday, and to me there was no change. very relieved !!

same d.o.b others where complaining about too, 5/1. so i don't know, maybe it needed a long steep ? or maybe there were multiple batches made on that date ? either way, i am set for a while and will try cloning cl based on the recipe i linked to above.

i guess i was comparing 5p to the sales price i got on GR. bought my three bottles when they had a 25 % off sale !

I tried the GR, and for the price, I would rather pay for the CL. And yes, I am talking about the mixology CL. I did try the reserve once, and it's amazing. But since it's so hard to get, I got hooked on the regular CL. Amazing stuff. Just soooooooo pricy. Not saying it isn't worth it, just wondering if anyone knows of anything similar out there that might be more cost effective.

just vape less of it then, or try cloning it ! thankfully i prefer GR slightly over CL. CLR is a different story, but it's a lot easier refusing to pay $ 37.50 for a bottle than $ 27.50 ! Even though 27 is ridiculous enough.

Yeah, it's expensive stuff. Very well made, but expensive nonetheless. I remember being a smoker, and always finding the cash for a fresh pack of my favorite brand of cigs, though, no matter how much they cost. At one point, before leaving NYC, they were around 9 dollars a pack. When I think of it in those terms, I can justify spending the 27.50 a bottle for the CL.

I just want to keep my eyes open for options, you know? I've tried a bit of diy, and I will say this: making craft juice is an art form. I've made some vapeable stuff, but it doesn't come close. There is a world of difference between mixing your own flavors at home and mixing professional juice. I'll keep experimenting, trying the clone recipes and whatnot, but I need my options layed out here... Lol, I'm going broke.

I hear you, i was paying $ 12 a pack the last couple of years. To me though, CL is not worth the price. There are so many good juices out there at fifty cents a ml or less. If you think its worth it though, you can vape it as a treat, cut it with some pg/vg solution etc... If you are so particular about that specific flavor, i doubt you will find a replacement.

I love it to, but have yet to find anything remotely close. So, I just buy the Steam CO. GR, Beaumont, and CL.

I love Castle Long, also. It is reserved for my occasional special evening vape. I can't afford it as an ADV.

I used to be a pipe smoker occasionally. I smoked Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey exclusively, and Castle Long reminds me of that tobacco blend.

Exactly the same here. Nothing quite like CL, but way too much of a wallet hit. My buddy was going through 30ml/week of it for about 2 months before his wife caught on and stopped that trend dead in its tracks.

One of 5P's strengths is their mixing... so an exact clone might be quite difficult - but will something similar suffice?

Have you tried: Goodlife Vapor's dealy sin? and check out must vapes: pencil... elevated vaping has that one.
copper creek's house blend, pure vape's ultimate cookie,

as sgenn points out - $27.50 is not terribly expensive compared to smokes or the cost of wasting $ trying to find an alternative...

I don't find Castle Long to be that unique. I say that with a few years experience trying numerous vendors... It's good... it has it's own twist... but just saying not so unique. Many vendors have a similar juice... sort of an ry4 with a bakery component... not overly sweet...

not overly sweet...

Wow. To me it's really overly sweet, albeit less than the Signature line's juices. I can't vape it more than a few puffs at a time.

Lots of people say Nicoticket is too sweet (I believe I saw a couple of posts from you saying that ?) - and I love them. Funny how it's all perception !

MyVapeJuice has a Borkum Riff Bouron NET btw if you are interested. I have'nt tried their line yet, but i hear good things about them in the NET thread, although most recommend ordering with an extra shot !

I've developed the 5 pawns addiction as well and recently discovered castle long. After 9 months I have narrowed my juice choices down to about 10-15 in one of two categories.

The less expensive and acceptable juices in 12mg for when I need the nicotine and the more expensive and over the top flavors in 6mg for just relaxing at night.
