I've been vaping for over 2 years now and been a forum member for just as long. I want to say thank you to ECF and the community for all the help and great info you've provided me. I've been vaping as close to 100% VG as I can get for most of my vaping life. I mix most of my own liquids. I just don't like the "throat hit" of the PG liquids. I've even started using VG based flavoring. Because of this, I've always had wicking issues with any setup I've used, and thought it was just something I would have to deal with. I had to resort to tipping and not chain vaping, untill now...

I recently purchased the Kayfun Lite + and fell in love with it. It didn't happen right away, It was my first RBA and I had some learning to do, especially since I like my thick VG. Like all my tanks in the past, I had some trouble getting the Kayfun to wick VG. I learned that coil diameter is just as important as your wick setup in a Kayfun. That info seems to be lacking in most of the posts I've seen where people are complaining about wicking issues. I like to use silica wick, and don't really trust cotton because it burns. I couldn't get the Kayfun to wick my VG through a 2mm diameter coil no matter how I set the wick. I personally wouldn't recommend going with anything smaller than a 4mm diameter coil using silica wick in the Kayfun. I'm currently using 4 strands of 2mm silica through a wide diameter 32ga coil and am in love. I've never had any tank that would wick VG better. I'm using a setup similar to this one

.

Chain vape 100% vg sucess !! No tipping, no leaks.

I hope anyone that is having trouble wicking in their Kayfun finds this post and at least tries to double their wick up before they give up.

5/64" micro coil and cotton wick. I use VG liquids. Wicking was only a problem before I figured out how much cotton to use. Too much wick in a kayfun doesn't mean better wicking.

Silica doesn't wick as fast as cotton and doesn't work well with micro coils running VG. The extra wick is only the length of the coil, and doesn't get tucked into the air channels. Yes, less wick in the air channels is better, but more wick in the coil is also better.

Just wanted to say thanks for the coil diameter tip! I had a really hard time getting this Kayfun to work with a 3/32" diameter coil, so i went to a 1/8", and i also chocked up the coil with a good bit of cotton wick, but now its producing soo much flavour i love it. Ive been 100% VG for a couple months now and i'm really loving the transition to Kayfun with a proper coil and wick build.

how do u stuff the coil good without too much wick hanging down on the deck near the channels? has anyone tried to angle cut the wick that feeds down onto the deck.. I am having trouble with chain vaping getting dry hits after 3-4 hits within a few minutes period.

Extra wick is cut to the length of the coil and not tucked in to the wells near the channels. An angle cut might work, I'm assuming you're using cotton? But yes, feel free to trim that wick up, you don't want to pack the liquid channels too tight.
