awhile back i tried diy - i read through the tips here and went on my way. about 4 days later i was buying juice ... i suck at it.

wth, i'm gonna try again. i got some 48mg pg, vg, everclear, and a gamut of loranns flavors (cause all of it was cheap ;) )

tried up a batch using one of the calculators, dropping the nic to ~12. using loranns almond at 10%, i got tons of vapor, no flavor. slowly bump the flavor up in increments of 5%. until i get to a 40% flavor mix. the flavor is still so weak it might as well not be there. after pm'ing with more knowledgeable folk than me (which really opens the playing field), i switch flavors to a stronger one - brandy. i also dilute the vg 2:8 with everclear. hey, that's pretty good. lots of flavor, lots of vapor, and throat hit i would expect from 12mg. maybe i can do this. time to experiment ...

still 12mg. i take my diluted vg/pga mix, slightly heat it and mix in just a pinch of mocha flavored splenda. with a total flavor of 12% that consists of 80% brandy, 10% english toffee and 10% pralines n cream.

drip it into the sp2 (801), and i get a good, strong brandy on the inhale. the exhale gives me the hint of the sweetness along with the brandy. it is very, very good. its not the best juice i've vaped, and the pride in making it myself probably makes it a bit better, but it is dang good!!

thanks to janetda, sun vaporer and purevapor for your help. i just might be able to clear the diy hurdle yet :D

thanks tracey. the brandy is very strong, and i am so enjoying it.

msski, if a ..... like me can accomplish it, believe me you can too.

garyd, flavourart was suggested to me. i got a slew of loranns off the classifieds, so i'm gonna continue with those for now. after (if) i get the hang of this i'll make the switch. i also have some coming from medicineflowers.

see,
now you have me interested in the DIY.....

i have the pg, pga, and not yet the flavorings.... but,

i somehow want to try it now?!?!?!

Read my guide, in my signature! I recommend using VG and not just PG if you like vapor, but it's pretty easy and cheap once you get the hang of it.

i also dilute the vg 2:8 with everclear.

I'm experimenting with this too. Does 2:8 mean 2 parts everclear to 8 parts VG, in other words 25% PGA in your filler? Do you know what the % of PGA in your final mix is? I started with 10% and the throat hit was *huge*.

I'd love it if you passed on some of the tips you got for getting more flavorful juices. Mine are usually a subtle citrus but I'd love to try a very flavorful mix!

thanks,

g

gerry, yes 1 part pga to 4 parts vg, 25% pga.
if my math is right it ended up being 3% pga of the final mix, and as i posted the flavor was 12% total. but i also put a splich of flavor in the vg/pga solution as well, so maybe 12.1% ;)

i wish i had some tips to give out, i just started and am still working out all the math/variables (different strength of flavors, what flavor might go good with what and what those strengths need to be).

the biggest thing i've learned is some flavors (at least loranns) are really only good for making a flavor, and not good by themselves (almost for example) cause they're just not strong enough. read through purevapors post (in his sig), there's a lot of good info in there.
