I Need A Better Setup

Okay, in a quick nutshell…

I'm not new to vaping, but I've been out of the loop for a while. I've never found something that works like a cigarette. I get sooo close, then go back. Nothing y'all haven't heard before.

My twist/spinners with Pyrex bottom coils isn't cutting it for me, or I need/want something more, or something.

For me, it's not so much the act of smoking as that first hit when I really want/need it. I often put a cigarette out after a few puffs and come back to it later. When I want a drink of water I don't want to suck on an ice cube. But I can take a gulp of water and be good for a few hours. That is very much how I smoke cigarettes.

I want options, sub-ish, TC maybe, I don't know. My current setup falls short.

I don't want to have to rebuild, but I'd like the option to in the future. I tinker at tinkering, electronics is not my main hobby. I'd rather DIY juice.

I work from home, battery life isn't as important as the option for stronger delivery.

I'm rather active. Lots of times I'll take a cigarette rather than a setup because of what I'm about to go do. If I drop a cigarette in a bucket of water, no biggy. I don't know how many times I've bent over a bucket with my lanyard on, and dunked my vaporizer!

It needs to be as operator-error-proof as possible. This is the biggest time I go for a cigarette, when I reach for a vape and I have to run through a hundred safety checks before I get it. I love to research, but earning a degree in electronics before I get some nicotine has not worked for me. This industry changes so fast I need daily safety briefings! Now there's a service I'd sign up for! LOL

Options for mouth-to-lung and/or direct lung would be nice. I do both, in various situations.

Price is a hard one. I'd like to be under $100 for a setup, then only need to add in for coils and juice as needed. With as rough as I am on them, $50 would be best, so I could get a backup setup.

I'm sensitive to nickel, but I'd try a coil to see how it goes.

I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts you may have!

You may want to look at the Aspire Triton 2, and the Heatvape 50W Invader Mini. The Triton has coils for both mouth-to-lung, and sub-ohm direct-lung. The Heatvape 50w has a lot of power, and I even watched a YouTube reviewer run it over with his car and it still fired! :D

I do not own either one of these, but based on what you're saying, they may work for you. Make sure you grab a Samsung 25r battery, and external charger for the Heatvape if you go with that.

Any variable wattage, regulated mod will be an extreme upgrade over a Twist/Spinner setup. Something between 30 - 40 watts should be plenty. You can adjust the power to suit your needs for that "strong first hit".

As for the topper or tank, any of the more current "higher end" clearomizer tanks should also be an upgrade to your current tanks. A few allow you the option to use pre-built factory-made coils and the option to make your own coils when you're ready.

What nicotine concentration are you using? This has the most to do with the "throat hit" that you seem to be searching for.

+1 on the HV Invader. I don't own one either, but saw a bunch of similar videos. Those things are hard to destroy. The Kanger Subtank is another option as well.

The HV Invader would be a good choice
I know ive seen the HV Invader on black friday/weekend sale somewhere in the $30 dollar range

I usually vape around 12mg, possibly as low as 6, up to 18.

Great link! Exactly what I was needing to read and watch!

For mouth to lung, you may want to search on youtube for the reviews on this new Innokin Endura T18. Even though you're not a newbie, the reviews are saying that this might be the closest any company has come to replicating a cig for draw and vapor. I think I'm gonna pick one up: Innokin Endura T18 Starter Kit It sounds like it's about as simple as it gets.

I think finding the right juice is also crucial to quitting, so maybe get a nice tobacco type juice for this at say 12nic or higher. Space Jam Eclipse is what got me into vaping, because I realized that I truly do enjoy vaping it more than cigs and it still gave me that taste; just better.

Also for $30 (I'm betting it'll be a few bucks cheaper at other places soon as it rolls out) you could easily get this as your out and about device just to kill the cravings, and still get a good sub ohm setup with lower nic for at home to chuck clouds. I work from home as well and it is nice to be able to cloud up the joint during a conference call when no one is the wiser :)
