there is a little more to it than simple battery life.. u have to consider all consumables in the package.. the other main one being being atomizers..

long term running costs.. how long each part lasts and what it costs to replace.. i wont say any more because any advice i would give might be considered biased for obvious reasons..

Robw Thanks I will look into the usb side of things. Maybe I will have to sabotage a dodgy battery soon as I haven't found any UK suppliers selling 901 usb battery/leads.

Trog I understand your point but my original post was simply my opinion. Some people may have more cash to throw at this than others and for me personally, it seems a tad expensive. I also understand that having the body manufactured in smaller quantities would be costly. I will await Da Rat's update review before making my next purchase.

Please don't feel you have to justify the price tag in any way.

Spyder, this post is a bit old but it might give you an idea of long term costs for some devices - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...tte-reviews/2452-value-money-6.html#post49585

One of the key things to take into account when calculating value for money is long term maintenance. Some devices are cheaper initially but if they have no warranty when they go wrong then the replacements add up.

For example, Sedansa have a five year guarantee on hardware but the initial cost is high. Over a year or the five years of warranty you will not need to pay any more than postage of broken parts to maintain the device.

Ease of use and quality of experience vary widely too, you will really have to research the reviews.

Janty classic, Sedansa Diva, DSE901's and some others are known to have decent atomisers.

Manual switches are very much liked usually.

Batteries can be improved such as with the Screwdriver for a 901 atomiser, DIY torch mods, USB connections or Kissbox USB batteries.

janties little flat box powered by a cigar type batteries should work out cheap to run long term.. possibly.. so might the lady pipe.. again possibly.. only time will tell us..

wired devices are lacking in simple convenience.. but go some way to solving the battery problems.. and the SD is a little much expensive for some to buy..

hanging in to what u have and waiting a while light be a good idea..

Kate I have come across that link before but I just had another read through it.

Maybe the SD would be a good move for me as I have 4 901 atomizers at my disposal right now. Again it's the initial outlay.

I think I have 1 battery that has got some juice in it so it will be a candidate for surgery. Switched 3 AA battery box has been ordered to play with. :D
