I need a new tank for my ProVari. I want something built strong that can take a fall and not come apart or break. I started with the original MAP-tank and that thing was a beast, but it's outdated. I have since owned a ViVi Nova (& mini) and the ProTank but I'm not happy with either of those. The ViVi Nova's come apart at the threads quite frequently and the ProTank broke at the threads of the metal base less than week after getting it.

I want a tank that looks sharp on my ProVari (preferably about the same diameter), hits good, is built to last, and won't come apart easily. I haven't kept up with the latest products in the e-cig world so I'm looking to you guys to give me some suggestions. Are there any good tanky tanks worth buying?

If you liked the pro-tank, you might like these.

I dropped my Kayfun 3.1 on my Provari from about 8 ft the top cap got dislodged from the Provari but the Kayfun was undamaged.

I would have to agree, the Kayfun is an absolute beast. I have managed to strip the threading on a clear tank, drop from about 9 feet strait on the drip tip, lawn dart style. After I got it apart, I just threaded it back together and it's still working like a champ. It's expensive but I can't think of any other device that deserves to be on a Provari as much as a Kayfun does.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Speaking about the Tatroe tank, does it come with its own bottom cap because I know the normal Kanger Protank bottom caps are cheap and break easily. The description on the site says it "will accept the Kanger Protank bottom cap and coil." If there's no improved bottom cap then there's no way I would buy this tank.

The J-Tank looks to be built about the same way as my MAP Tank, and despite it's appearance it was the sturdiest tank I've owned yet. My only problem with this one is that it's a carto tank and I'm not sure I like carto tanks. My friend uses a carto tank and it's okay but just didn't seem to give me the same throat hit as my CE# tanks. I might give it a shot though since it's fairly cheap.

The steel tanks look good too but again it's a carto tank. :\ I'd probably buy a cheap carto tank first to make sure I could live with it before getting a nice one like this.

I'll look into this Kayfun tank but I doubt I'll be dropping $175 on a tank. That's a little ridiculous.

Metal tank would probably work, Vaporfexion makes one

The Cartomator Stainless Steel Tank Series

Also these are pricy but have a window and look to be pretty breakproof. Found in another thread =)

This site also sells the pro-v, which is also available in pyrex and it matches the pro-vari, and i believe for a couple buck more you can get a fill port! I've seen these take about as much of a beating as you'd like you see a mod take...my pro-vari had one of these on it when it went off a roof and down the driveway : ) and it works fine (a little scratchy though!)

I just use the cheap plastic smoke tech tanks. I bought one to try before buying a Phiniac. I loved it so much that I never bought a Phiniac. I have been using 2 of them for over a year now and I drop my Provari it seems at least once a day. The smoke tech cartos always came apart at the threading so I had my husband cut them down to fit boges. Now I never break anything in a drop. I continue to use them because they just work.

I just want to be clear on your requirements ...you want a tank that looks perfect on a Provari, performs flawlessly, lasts forever / is indestructible, AND is inexpensive? Is that all ...or, would you like a side of Peace on Earth with that? ;)

Speaking about the Tatroe tank, does it come with its own bottom cap because I know the normal Kanger Protank bottom caps are cheap and break easily. Tatroe tank bottom cap I do not have one, so I do not know if it is "improved" over the basic Protank bottom cap, but I'm guessing it is made from the same material as the tank so it probably is stronger.

I was also going to recommend the Tatroe (or a solid metal tank in general), but you need to understand that, no matter what you get, the limitation of its durability is always going to be the 501 thread connection - and it is relatively weak in comparison to the larger diameter eGo threading built directly into the body of a device, which the Provari doesn't have. With enough force applied, anything can be broken. If you are truly that hard on your devices, I would suggest going the other way ...get cheap eGo batteries and cheap eGo clearomizers - they will break more often, but won't be as expensive to replace.
