hey all!

i am trying to find myself a mod. more specifically one that is relatively affordable, reliable, one that doesnt stack batteries, smaller in size, and something that i can use the "ego vision stardust" with. i know i may need some type of connector which is fine.

ive searched all over the internet looking at websites, youtube reviews and the like and its all a little too confusing to me.

i am currently vaping with the ego vision cartomizer, with the ego battery. but im looking for a stronger draw, and something that will have a warmer hit to it. i almost want to be choked out by the vapor. i have settled with a higher PG for a better throat hit.

but i want a more intense experience.

please any help would help!

if anyone might be selling a mod too that would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

I'd suggest a regulated or vv mod. I recently got a smoktek vv box mod as a back-up/pocket friendly mod. It a vv mod so you can up the voltage for a warmer vape and its about $60 shipped. You would still need to buy batteries, a charger, and an ego adapter to use the stardust. Not really sure how the stardust holds up at a higher voltage though. You could also look into the Askton Hughes SVR. It has 3 voltage settings and I think the stardust will work without an adapter.

The LR isn't inherently "better" than the SR, it just depends on what voltage you're using. The LR coil burns hotter than the SR at the same voltage. The LR will burn out faster and drains the battery quicker. Smaller (<450mah) batteries can be damaged by LR cartos/attys less than 2ohms.

Watts is translated to heat.

Watts = voltage x voltage / resistance (ohms)

If you plug in different values in that equation, you will see that the 2 ways to increase watts are higher voltage or lower resistance.

If you can't change voltages because you have a fixed voltage PV, then the only way to get more heat (watts) is by lowering the resistance of your carto/atty.

Because the voltage is squared in the formula, a small increase in voltage makes a big increase in wattage (and vice versa).

So, if you use the same atomizer or carto, you'll notice a warmer vape and more vapor between a 3.4 and 3.7V PV.

With a 2ohm carto and 3.4V, you are getting 5.8 watts.
With the same carto and 3.7V, you will get 6.8 watts.
That's a pretty noticeable difference.

But, if you try to use that 2ohm carto on a 5V kGo, you'll be vaping 12.5 Watts.
That's a drastic difference, and too hot for me. YMMV.
So, you might want to crank the ohms up to 2.5 and get 10 watts, which is the "sweet spot" for a lot of people.

If you don't want to stack batteries, and 3.7V doesn't make enough difference for you, your only options are:
1) to get a 5V PV, like a kGo (or a few others)
2) or get a variable voltage PV.
3) Get a fixed voltage mod that takes a 3.7V 18650 battery and use a NiMh 4.8V battery in it.

If you want an easy VV with some newbie protections built in, one of the Lavatube types would fit the bill. With those, you can pretty much stay with 3ohms (SR) and adjust the voltage from 3V to 6V. That will get you anywhere from 3 to 12 watts. Using a 2ohm carto at 5 volts will get you 12.5 watts, which is about the max you can go because it limits the amperage (Volts/Resistance) to 2.5A in order not to burn out atty/carto coils.

You can get a complete kit for about $70 at apolloecigs.com with free shipping. Use code "thankyou" for 10% off.
